The Visitor Came
The day the visitor came
A fuzzy little guy, brown
He looked hungry, we fed him
All vegetables, our surprise
A hungry guy sort of thin
We talked a bit just chit chat
He then proceeded to tell
Tell of his life's hardships;
"Born in the wild, jungle home
But now on city streets"
We asked him had he a place
He said "no kind folk, I don't"
Now family conference
If you're nice you can stay here
He has been here ever since
"One problem, I have four buds
They've street people too, we five
Dawny Duck, Frosty Snowman,
Bunny Rabbit, Teddy Bear
Nice children, sleep in one bed
All five of us need a home"
I've another,monkeycaged
I fear he seems to like that
Swinging in his cage all day
Passersby come, they applaud"
Visitor Tig, was the best
Nice kid and so were the rest
Even so was the monkey
But he's not want to escape
Well fed, much loved, all for free

Note: I've rewritten this poem today, January 21, 2023. If you read it yesterday it had Tig and his friends, along with the monkey, being taken from the wilds before being adopted into the home of the writer of the poem. I have saved it but now it is much nicer, almost cute, than before.
This little fellow greeted us every morning at our hotel while we were staying in HuehueTenango, Guatemala for two weeks. At the video end we were sharing hands.

- Sanaa introduced us to T.S. Eliot's final long poem collection, of four poems called "Four Quartets". He was seeing some dismal times and times for hope, much of it during the earlier days of WWII. I plan to read it.
_ King Solomon of old, Old Testament Bible times, wrote his dismal outlook poem, Ecclesiastes, which became a Book of the Christian Bible. Chapter three is about time, I liked "a time for living, a time for dying" probably best: (link)
"1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; ... ... 11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. 12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life." - The Byrds, in Turn, Turn, Turn, also wrote a song about time (the lyrics), much of it is a quote from Ecclesiastes 3. You will recognize it:
- Now I plan to go hide, read my T.S, Eliot book, Practical Cats, a collection of his Cat Poems. And soon also I will watch a video of the Musical, "Cats" which uses many of the poems from this book. I might even read some Eliot's book, "Four Quartets", read Ecclesiastes 3, and listen over and over to this Byrds' song. Oh yes and read other writing from the links posted on the Imaginary Garden today. Thank You Sanaa.

Your Gun
Go shooting up the town
Will it make your revenge?
Getting even for them
They've been mistreating you
That for a short moment
Seems to fix the world
Later on you'll be caught
Or maybe at the scene
Then you'll lose your freedom
And perhaps lose your life
Sons, leave your guns at home

- Bottom photo is from my 'top up' exploration of the small town near here, Cut and Shoot, Texas. Read of my trip here.
- Photo at the beginning is from the September 1970 movie, 3:10 to Yuma, read about the movie here. I have not watched this movie.
- Carrie, hosting, told us, "This week I am doing something a little different. I am posting images from different movies I have loved over the years." You can see them at the Sunday Muse #221,
- This is a fun one – it’s a prompt developed by the comic artist Lynda Barry, and it asks you to think about dogs you have known, seen, or heard about, and then use them as a springboard into wherever they take you. Lynda Barry, Wikipedia
- Below are a few I've already written about my favorite dog, Adi, now in Doggie Heaven:
There stands the glass that will ease all my pain That will settle my brain, it's my first one today There stands the glass that will hide all my fears That will drown all my tears, brother, I'm on my way
I'm wondering where you are tonight And I'm wondering if you are all right I wonder if you think of me in my misery
There stands the glass, fill it up to the brim Until my troubles grow dim, it's my first one today
I'm wondering where you are tonight And I'm wondering if you are all right I wonder if you think of me in my misery
There stands the glass, fill her up to the brim Until my troubles grow dim, it's my first one today
- This is a true account, I won't name him but his name is a buzzword in our Houston area. Think of a very notorious husband killer's defender. He has a beard the color of mine but now he keeps his busy, mine I keep close.AND PLEASE TAKE THE POEM FOR WHAT IT IS, and don't let me (Jim) enter into your second reading) - I've seen the Chicago movie more than twice but not the play.

Weather for Couples;
correlated with the "Life in the Fast Lane" song
and a "Metaphoric Weather Forecaster
Verse I:
He was a hard-headed man he was brutally handsome
Another man from the hot place, liked by people
Stand by for some vivid Climate Change, it's very nice now
And she was terminally pretty
and she was dangerously wonderfully beautiful
Sunny days way too early in spring
She held him up and he held for ransom
She was disgustingly high maintenance
Storms approaching, property damage imminent
In the heart of the cold, cold city
Relations like this cool off fast
Spring weather here always cold, and icy
He had a nasty reputation as a cruel dude
He was seemingly nice, except to the people who knew him
Bring in the pets and garage the car, hail sneaking in
They said he was ruthless said he was crude
He brings in the love spat storms, it will be worse
Man is ruining the environment, motive profit
They had one thing in common
The season's days will work together
March winds, April heavy showers
They were good in bed
Together close they were so compatible
Bring May Flowers
She said, ’faster, faster.’
and she said, "can't get enough"
I promise you will like my forecast
the lights are turning red.'
It won't last forever
Enjoy, good weather ends tonight
Chorus:
Life in the fast lane
Modern technology gives a nasty boost
What do you expect now we are 'civilized'?
Surely make you lose your mind
It's so very confusing, this romance stuff
Satellites and computers, we still make mistakes
Life in the fast lane
Find a marriage counselor soon
We will have six weather projections
Are you with me so far? Love is the answer, stick with it You can take your pick from those

- At first I was going to write my works in step with "Highway to Hell" but decided to use "Life in the Fast Lane" as with it was more in step with Paul John Deare's prompt, see link to his prompt above.
