A Tricube Poem ~~ Hearts pitty-patty

First grade love

I love you
Without fail
Whole bunches

Really do
Tarts in pail
Share lunches

Me 'n you
Set our sail
Trust hunches

A garden poem for Thursday

Where I'm Planted

Here I am rooted in good soil
Others rooted in wet or pots
You might say wrong side of the tracks
Richer digging builds character
Search for food deep down makes me tough

My waist is at water level
I drink in the rains of knowledge
Head shoulders arms are raised up high
I search the skies but kiss the ground
Here I'm placed happy with no choice

Cow's in the pasture ~~ Tuesday Poem is Written

Bovine Pastures and ...
  The poet writes

Let the bovine pasture at day
Her calf's in the shade 'neath a tree
Suckle her baby when she's back
She chews her cud while the kid sleeps

Let the farm boy write his ditty
A poem of the cattle and sheep
No sheep today they're being sheared
That's man's way of keeping them cool

Let the bovine pasture at day
Write of the habits of his cow
Use metaphors freely they sell
She's chewing her cud the calf sleeps

Farm lad is writing his memoirs
David-like the giant he slew
What good for him he didn't know
Baby's saved cow loves him for that

Bovine's resting under the tree
Chewing her cud while farm boy writes
Writes of the lion who attacked
Strangled by the herder calf sleeps

Night comes mama and calf are barned
Baby's suckled more next he sleeps
Mother chews her cud cogitates
Boy on the street selling his work
