Saved by the Plug - a Poem for Friday Writings

from a google search for "Cinderella"

Magaly has invited us to write poetry or prose which explores current Global Issues through fairy tales (let the retellings be bright, be dark, or be both).  This has been a controversial issue all over the world.  A demonstration is in progress over this matter this weekend at our National Capital, Washington D.C.

  Country Saved

Miss Cinderella
She'd found her fella
He'd solve her worry
Prince comes-now hurry

Capital break in
Night darkness therein
Pull bad guys' plug**
Make country smug
While the others fuss
No more killing us

She'd found her fella
Miss Cinderella
He solved her worry
Prince came-they'd hurried
While the others fuss
No more killing us

Notes:
 *  I do not recommend this, prison punishment may result
** What action might possibly accomplish this result I am not sure, nuclear depletion comes to mind?

Winter, season welcome? - a Poem for dVerse Quadrille

["Freezing rain", ©  Jimmiehov 2007]

Season not favored;

or is it?

Season for which

I have mixed feelings

Winter is coming

A little freezing rain

once in a blue moon

But more often than not

there'll be no snow, be

only rain or

freezing cold

Is though, little bit fun

to play when snow comes
