Dan Man's Gone ― Day 30 of NaPoWriMo 2015

Dan the man, the Destructible Dan Man
Came aboard the Mars 2-15 Express
It was a one way ticket, no return
No return ever, meaning not ever

Only UP this ride would go, goodbye all
Okay with Dan, he hated this world
Hated everyone, hated his family
Father and mother, wife and children, all

Full of hatred he, had a plan for all
On his way to Mars, there's no return, safe
Destructible Dan Man, he killed them all
He threw their bodies in the backyard well

5, 4, 3, 2, Lift off, we've had lift off
The Mars 2-15 has cleared the launch pad
No remorse, safe now, "Dan Man out of here"

Dogwood, Iris, and Dogs ― Day 29 of NaPoWriMo 2015

 Pink Dogwood Tree

Walking along the sidewalk
When we came upon "this tree"
O, oh, oh, raved another
Pink dogwood tree winding down

Blooming still 'til season's end
In full bloom earlier on
More pink than green this dogwood
Always, blooms til season ends

Blue Beagle Iris

Came upon this flower bed
Iris, blue, trace of purple
Likes afternoon shady spot
Just like my old beagle dog

Magaly said, "… and when I was almost home (walking from her NYC dentist), I noticed a tiny plot of frog-cups or Fritillaria meleagris. ... we will write a new poem that will include a flower named after an animal or a bird named after a flower."

Read the Clouds ― Day 28 of NaPoWriMo 2015

Reading the Clouds

When I read the clouds I see hope
Face of loved one coming today
Spirit of loved one departed

Rain for spring flowers, practical
Flowers, pretty yellows and pinks
Bold purples, happy oranges
Fiery reds. Youth, garden delight

Objects loom, Jonah's fish or whale
Did it really happen, God knows
B-Seventeen, bringer of death
Seven-forty-seven, travel

Find their silver linings, bright sides
Bright sides to every dilemma
Better moments come, in their time

Cooking today ― Day 27 of NaPoWriMo 2015

Chocolate Bird's Nest

Ingredients are:

Molten chocolate, half to a whole package

Six or so candy chocolate candy coated bird eggs
Ample amount of corn flakes cereal, one to two cups depending on how much chocolate you have melted
Lots of love, make it for a friend

You will need a nine inch square or round cake pan or plastic container

Directions follow:

Melt molten chocolate in double boiler

or in microwave. Be careful not to over cook.

Pour into pan

Stir in corn flakes until flakes to chocolate

ratio is about even.  In other words about
the same amounts of chocolate as corn flakes

Before mixture cools and hardens

place your six eggs where you want them
Like maybe a hen had laid them there

You may study birds nests
to make this realistic. I find placing
them equidistant around over the nest
but random looking looks best.

Artistic touch will rule here

The more love you put into this
the sweeter your little nest will be

I am linked with at the Real Toads, It is not just about food

and with  NaPoWriMo 2015both for Day 27 of National Poem Writing Month

Bjorn's instructions are "write a poem in the form of a recipe. It can either be something we can actually using for our favorite dinners, but why not a recipe for something more abstract such as love, spring or death."

Mine is real food, but made with lots of love by lots of kids.

Fortune Cookie Folly ― Day 26 of NaPoWriMo 2015

You will inherit

You will inherit some money
or a small piece of land. Whoopee
That's what fortune cookie had said
Rushed right home to spread the good news

Next to the auto store he went
Ordered a bright new red corvette
Found his wife diamond ring, real big
Seven carrots, fit for a queen

More on layaway, kids need shoes
Soon he spent all of his money
He didn't have a thing to show
Worse yet, rich uncles he had none
