"I didn't say that"

Read, "Let us taste each other’s words"
Was the Poet's admonition **
Way the world communicates
We say and hear we show and watch

Lest we get it wrong plenty find
Wrong transmission or reception
Purposefully said fake news, lie
A lie, nice way is said 'fake news'

'Heard it wrong' denies ignorance
'Didn't say that,' an outright lie
From whose lips these false statements come?
Whose ears incite to lie some more

Not yours nor mine, it could not be
And politicians don't take blame
Candied words can seem delicious.

 - 2010  "Smiley Guy" photo was taken and first posted here,  https://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/2010/09/smile-we-passed-on-street-started-with.html?m=1,  taken when we were at Gdansk, Poland, during our 2010 Baltic Sea cruise.  He was standing beside a street doorway to a small shop.  I have used him a lot on this blog going under the alias of "Flirty Guy" because I first used him in a 'flirting poem.'  See his Label below.

** Magaly's words.  She also said,  "(words can be rather nutritious, I’ve been told)", adapted to my bottom line.

I've almost always, perhaps always, written as poem or a ditty for Pie Day, March 14 (3.14) .  Things slipped up on me this year so this Senryū will have to do.

   Apple not Chosen

There I was, feeling alone
Alone in a world of greed
Like saddened child with a limp
In the bin crying inside

Pick me, pick me, cries unheard
Tears unseen crying inside
Passed by ugly ducks can't play
Our team has to win the game

But in the end no matter
No matter I was different
Crippled, darkened skin, alone
Store's empty, I didn't count

All must play who needs one more
Last apple in the bin.  Him?
Boy with a limp mottled skin
Least  damage left field he'll play

Kid who was shunned now at bat
There hit he did a high home run
Unwanted child, apple sliced
Tasty inside, skin was sweet

An Adi Poem for Weekly Scribbling

Early Bird Gets the Worm;
but there's another inching
around the corner

When they first married
'Twas her alarm they had
She'd set it every day
for them to rise and feed

Dog goes out then she eats
Was Pebble's new routine
Gone days of puppyhood
When HE came closet HERS

Nobody said a word
Just the way it worked out

Saved and saved bought a house
Responded suburb's call
The clock moved to his side
He had to learn the role
Pebbles went with the flow

Nobody said a word
Just the way it worked

One sad day Pebbles died
"Won't get a dog again"
But Daughter had come
"No place for our new pup"

Adi learned the routine
Lights off closet for her
Alarm sounds you go out
In and eat, play day's here

Nobody said a word
Just the way it worked

Seems one day the world changed
Doggy door for Adi
Come and go as she please
In, eat, computer fed

Digital take over
Alarm clock no more, tossed
Smart phones now, his and hers
Each sets his own alarm

Nobody said a word
Just the way it worked

They all adapted well
Retirement had come
Each day is Saturday
Sleep in except Sundays

Alarms are never set
Adi's out when she needs
When we wake, eat and play
Sleep in but not Sunday

Nobody said a word
Just the way it worked

What comes next?
