We have a winner

Race day came fast.  Our horse was in good shape
We had fed, groomed, and trained him for this day
A special day it was, the owners' race
My lady at one-o-eight was his ride

He paid 190 for the ten we spent
Six owners proud that day--just one would win
I bet him, "It's a Hoot", five-to-thirteen
The Lady coaxed, Hoot honored his training

He won by a nose, 203 dollars
Pocketful and a bottle of champagne
