NaPoWriMo 2018-14 -- Day 14, a Poem, dreams to be concerned
In his dreams there was one
One that the doctors called
a "recurring dream"
For our young man this was no small matter
He could not get it out of his mind-stuck
more than once a week the dream reoccurred
The dream
In a small café in Bernice he would go. There to write poetry and drink coffee and eat chocolate éclairs. But it bugged the snot out of him, the table wobbled. Wobbled so badly that it was hard for him to write. He used to like that dream but reconsidered when the table was introduced. It wobbled, one leg was shorter than the rest. A book of matches or two under the short leg solved the problem.
That was the first problem, but in his dream he could never find that book of matches or two. This presented a terrible situation for which there was not solution. He never brought matches, he did not think about changing tables (this one looked over the park, giving him inspiration for his poems). And to ask the inn keeper to fix it was out of the question.
Writing the Dream Book entry for "Wobble Table Dreams"
So bad for him was this dream that he went to see a psych. The psych was of no avail, his dream books had never heard of a dream like this. You're a poet and writer, why don't you write an entry for the "wobbly table" recurring dream.
His entry
The dream--one of the nastiest ever
Table wobbles
Can't be made to stop
Live with it
Meaning of the dream-Dreamt by
a very frustrated person
Doesn't trust the docs
more than one has told him to leave
the last one said to him
guess you're just going to have to
Live with it

- I'm linked to Day Fourteen of NaPoWriMo, http://www.napowrimo.net/day-fourteen-5/. There were a list of "prompts" for which we were to write a dream interpretation in poetry form. I chose the "wobbly table."
- If you click on 'PARTICIPANTS SITES' link at the top of their page you can read the poems submitted by other bloggers.
- I'm also writing for Marian at the Imaginary Garden with Real Toads, Eres Tú, http://withrealtoads.blogspot.com/2018/04/eres-tu.html -- Our assignment there was to read, listen, get inspiration, and write after listening and watching Carla Morrison on YouTube.
