Worries - a Poem for Sunday Muse

Photography by Elizabeth Korning

Early Life

She's got a tiger by the tail
Sitten' on the top of the world
Between the tiger and the globe
She's easily queen for a day

Wondering now when her day will be
Worrying bad lost her appetite
Seems it never would come her way
Worn silly soon she's skin and bones

Is the queen for her not to be
We'll wait and see--Storry's moral?

The Trip - a Write for Poetics:Choice

         Her Last Voyage

Skittling along leaving familiar port
Moves a little slow trip will be her last
Headed for salvage dry dock berth for that
At rest 'til she dies bones and flesh they'll pull

Museums parts will spread children ooh and awe
Older than grandpa amazed they will be
Born in 1910, hundred ten years old
She's thinking stop, and go on no more

There's no choice, they'll come, she goes steam or pushed
Dogs needing their bones addicts need the smoke
