One Single Impression: Mask
In Hiding
Why do you wear that mask
Lone Ranger wanna be?
Do people often ask
reveal yourself to me?
Brazen robber abhorred
stealthy night man so vile?
Incognito—you lord
over the night a while.
On your path to the ball
imbued with rich ego?
Grandness one dares not call—
one peek before you go?
Noted surgeon sterile
cap, gloves, gown, mask applies.
Nurses and scrubs at will
glimpsing beneath your guise—
Features blatantly shine
yet emotions unseen—
thoughts latently abide
your being hides from me.
Curious me, I want to know, reveal yourself to me
