Nothing Comes ~~ another Whirligig poem

A Day When Nothing Comes

searching my mind.  Seems nothing comes to me

impotent memory, lost at the start

molest my cells from their sleep, "Awaken!"

nightmares come so easy, just close my eyes

cheese, melted and stringy, green, what's the use

moonlight streaming through the window

jars full of moonbeams, I remember now

curl up in my chair, morning is coming

sun is over the horizon, early

dogs sense it too, this day is to be mine

calm now, have to dress, look my very best

aubades* they'll serenade, "Happy Birthday ."
