The Flyer - a Poem for The Sunday Muse

THROUGH THE AIR

Flying through the air two ropes holding tight
Our lady flew with the greatest of ease
Knew in her mind the pilot hauling her

She picked the pilot and the plane from looks
This one knew his business, looked so sincere
Plane doing loop to loops, stays on course

Pilots don't know she is there, can't see her
You won't see her either fine aerialist
She sees her life on the ropes in the air

Lillian Leitzel's* new life in our minds

*Note:   Lillian Leitzel (2 January 1892 - 15 February 1931) famed aerialist fell to her death performing in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Murder She Wrote - TV Character for Friday Writings

    Anglela Speaks

Hi, I'm Angela Lansbury
Starring role of "Murder She Wrote"
Once a weekly TV broadcast
DirecTV now late night reruns

Favorite task is teaching to write
Writing murder mystery stories
Famed author, Jessica Fletcher
Comes, help the law solve its murder

Lesson I love to teach is "How"
Most times I've a story in mind
Know the ending before I write
Who's the killer, why was the death

I know I'm almost real to some
And when you kill I'll track you down
     _ _ _

 - The series focuses on the life of Jessica Fletcher, a mystery writer and amateur detective played by Angela Lansbury, who finds herself becoming involved in solving a series of murders that take place in the fictional town of Cabot Cove, Maine, as well as across the United States and abroad.

Lover Advice - a Word Acrostic

                        QUAILING; lover heal thyself

Quail from your downward darting kiss
from making an ars of yourself
                        your unwarranted rage does tell

                        downward ever downward you fall
                        darting where mosquitos dast not
                        kiss and make up, apologize

A Scented Poem - for Poetics at dVerse

MORNING JOY

The joy of my morning
the smell of the coffee brewing
It enters my nostrils
like other odors do.  Different
Different because I smell
The only whiff I'll know today
COVID evil killer
He has taken my smell away

I've this trouble before
Degreaser machine, factor job
My college dropout days
From the vat of boiling solvents
Strong chemical fumes
Gradually smell came back
In the U.S. Army took years

So I have hope from then
Flowers, cooking, puppies, await

Morning Joys - a Quadrille Poem for dVerse

Image by Julius Silver from Pixabay

MORNING COMES

Morning comes I step out my door
A bird is singing, my rooftop
A mockingbird I sing to him
"Who cooks for you" "Who cooks for you"
Then from my rooftop he returns
Quiet a bit, replies another

Repeat Repeated
Neighborhood sings to me

Clouds and shadows this morning here at my house
