One Single Impression: Vital

Vital; a review

His vital signs were slowing
he kept drifting off to sleep
Old Father Time's a going
keeps bringing up from the deep

Time long ago a young lad
playing outside with his toys
never thought of being bad
though soon he'd meet bigger boys

Indelible were the teens
memories weren't far away
his treasure was lost between
her mother's sheets in their play

Learning to drive dodged a cat
he took his mum for a ride
told her proudly hold your hat
"too old to spank" hurt his pride

Came along his love for life
courting her was fun and joy
then wedding bells and a fife
nine months later it's a boy

Happily ever after
they all lived until that day
tears prevail swallowed laughter
loved till death he went away

One Single Impression: Sour Grapes

.

Sour Grapes

Country Western* for the mass's mainstay
from soup to nuts no way to skin a cat
O name a song with nary one cliche
but don't you dare compose a poem like that
