One Single Impression: Vital
Vital; a review
His vital signs were slowing
he kept drifting off to sleep
Old Father Time's a going
keeps bringing up from the deep
Time long ago a young lad
playing outside with his toys
never thought of being bad
though soon he'd meet bigger boys
Indelible were the teens
memories weren't far away
his treasure was lost between
her mother's sheets in their play
Learning to drive dodged a cat
he took his mum for a ride
told her proudly hold your hat
"too old to spank" hurt his pride
Came along his love for life
courting her was fun and joy
then wedding bells and a fife
nine months later it's a boy
Happily ever after
they all lived until that day
tears prevail swallowed laughter
loved till death he went away

Oh so sweet and bittersweet too Jim...I like what you've done with this prompt.

Mr. Linky isn't cooperating!
This is too good, I think this is life and we have to enjoy it, tears too!
Thank you so much for your encouragement in the Facebook group "Bloggers on Facebook". We need to have a Facebook account in order to gain access to the group. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience, Dr Jim :)
This is excellent on every level.
nice review!!
Would you like me to add you onto the group "Bloggers on Facebook", Dr Jim? :)
Very sweet!
There's both joy and sorrow in this poem, Jim--probably more of the latter--but that's the way life is, isn't it? We take the good and the bad and do with them the best we can...
You capture the way life turns on a dime and turns again and again. And how joy and love are choices.
This is very touching Jim. You captured this man's life so beautifully. He feels so real. One of my favorites here Jim!
like your take on the prompt.. life is what it is and we live it to the best we can! well told!
So sad and so lovely!
