One Single Impression: Wrong

Wrong:
a not very good way to start his long day

Charley started off wrong the other day
He got up on the wrong side of the bed
That made his wife cranky all of the day
Should have climbed back in bed to get ahead

Dressing next he would put on the wrong shoes
That of course made his feet to hurt all day
Wrong frozen meal for breakfast he would choose
Poor Charley had chicken and rice at eight

Charley went to work but caught the wrong bus
Poor excuse that—made him an hour late
Who'd a guessed—the boss put on such a fuss
Boys' chicken and rice was to catch the blame

Day's end found Charley's work undone—he stayed
The boss again put on another fuss
Ten minutes you're out of here—Charley prayed
Trouble comes in droves now he'll blame his bus

He put away his tools and washed his hands
He'd not delay and miss those minutes ten
Homeward bound saw Charley making his plans
Was his wife still madder than a wet hen?

Charley caught his bus but from the wrong line
Worried he'd catch the Dickens from his wife
He did soon as cracking the door this time

I'll let you finish—poor guy what a life

Very witty, Jim. Poor, poor Charley. Very good job on the rhyming. I always found rhyming to be very difficult, so I appreciate one every time I see it.

I guess we've all had those days but, even so, it's wearing to read. Poor ol' Charley.

I think I've had days like this. Poor Charley certainly did have his fill of wrong for the day.

Oh Jim...I feel so sorry for Charley. You've tugged us in emotionally with this poem. Sadly, we all have rough days like this. Poor guy can't catch a break.
