Halloween Night -- 55 Flash Plus

Halloween Night
"Trick or Treat!"  Naughty words I love
Little kids like to shout.  Tonight
it's okay if they say those words
Innocence is theirs, they know not
naughty words they say in pure bliss
Tricks the likes of things they don't know
Got to go now,  doorbell's ringing
"Trick or treat!"  Words for treats tonight

I am linked with Kerry O'Connor at the Real Toads FLASH 55 PLUS!
Kerry wants us to write a Halloween themed poem of exactly 55 words.
Mine is exactly 55 words including the title.
For the first time in 16 years we have had trick or treaters.  That is because we moved out of a gated community where the POA had an activity for the kids called "Trunk or treat."

I Sat on the Bench -- Artistic Interpretation via my Poem, an Acrostic

I Sat on the Bench

It was covered with pretty leaves

Staying there at the whims of wind
Attuned to weather, soaking sun
They beckoned me, come sit with us

Only a few I pushed aside
Never wanting to spoil their day

This day would be their very last
Hell's angels want them for the fire
End's their destiny, fire or broom

Broom takes them to Heaven, on earth
Earthen pile of rotting debris
Now life ends like that, dirt to dirt
Choose for our souls, these leaves cannot
Here on the bench I meditate

The one I chose for inspiration was of her bench, posted at the link above.

Watching the October storm -- a 7 line stanza challenge poem

October Storm

Here from the safety of my porch
I watch the wind as it blows
Objects bow
Bending palms give their alms
Blowing rain swirls.  Glows,
Silhouetted distant light
I watch, standing straight

YouTube Video is from my back balcony (former home) in 2008 during Hurricane Ike.  Ike did not damage to our home although it did break branches and pushed down several trees.

The Photo is of our present home's back yard after our recent Texas storm from remnants of Mexico's Pacific Hurricane Patricia combined with a low pressure tropical storm which came in from the Gulf of Mexico.  Over the weekend we had over seven (7) inches of rain but no wind or water damage.

Today I am linked with Margaret at the Toad's Imaginary Garden, Play It Again, Toads! , where Margaret asked us to write for a vintage challenge.  Mine is from Kerry O'Connor's 2012 challenge, "Paul Laurence Dunbar - 7 line stanza poem".

She requested that we write a seven line stanza poem with the following recommended, but not required form of 8, 7, 3, 6 (with internal rhyme), 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively for each line.  I met that requirement in my above poem.
