Winter, season welcome? - a Poem for dVerse Quadrille

["Freezing rain", ©  Jimmiehov 2007]

Season not favored;

or is it?

Season for which

I have mixed feelings

Winter is coming

A little freezing rain

once in a blue moon

But more often than not

there'll be no snow, be

only rain or

freezing cold

Is though, little bit fun

to play when snow comes

We don't get much actual "weather" here in Southern Nevada, so I greatly enjoyed this chilly spill. ;)

Neither do we, about once every ten years for snow. And generally about three freezing couple or so days. We live 50 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico coast in the Houston area. Thanks De for the nice prompt (moon).

Fingers crossed for snow. Here and there. Winter needs its icing. :)

No telling what the weather will bring, but we can hope. But not too much snow!

Snow is so much better unless you have a large driveway to clear

I'm not so fond of the cold either--and freezing rain is the worst.

We can deal with snow here at 3,600 ft, however ice is another matter in spite of the fact that we spent 23 years in MN. Cheers to you Jim.
