- Magaly has invited us to "create poetry or prose which includes the following words: storm; ink; and love" (I made a Senryu for her). We have a choice as using her prompt is optional. Due to my busy schedule I have opted to post instead a previously written work using "signs" for the prompt by MS JADELI.
Very apt, came across a closed road this week with no instructions at all. I think your take on signs is very appropriate....sometimes they need clearer instructions. Maybe it is all fate and it is the lack of clarity that is designed to let us be pushed in the right direction.
Your detour poem shows just how unpredictable life can be even when we try our best to take the least difficult path. The second poem is a sparkling little gem taking me to the perspective of a deer merging with the weather.
Watching a thunderstorm roll in is one of life's simple pleasures. LOL, not knowing which way to go when there's a road closure is the direct opposite feeling. :D
Love watching a storm roll in over Lake Michigan (from the safety of a big window, that is. Also, yes a closed sign is helpful when it has an alternative detour route offered! Great metaphor for life, for sure.
What a take on ominous situations in life .... either right or left or a third on e and may be we'll reach at the same place .....so much to think about
You will have to make up your own mind. Just read here first, then visit my blogs and Jim1Jim1 YouTube to figure me out. (Some blogs are unlisted but are accessible if you can find them.)

A perfect metaphor, Jim. I like how you used the experience as a teaching/learning experience.
Nice...sometimes pathways are blocked but imagine if you take the different way... what mysteries await!
A great poem. You are right life is full of signs with no arrows pointing which way to go. Well done, Jim.
I am listening to the song, it's great! I enjoyed reading your sign poem. ~Jay
I enjoyed your take on the prompt, Jim, and have had a similar experience. It is also an excellent metaphor for life.
Excellent, Jim!
Much love,

The same in life, sometimes you just have to trust your luck when there is no way forward.
Great Jim and a such good metaphor 🙌

That's an enjoyable Friday Special. :-)
Detour with no alternative route is a mean trick. Love to find my way.
There were lots of detour signs I should have read. I get it. I guess we get through life the best we can and try to have our cars mostly intact.❤️
Nice one, Jim. I remember the song well. All life is a detour to avoid anything that sounds like fun.
I do love a thunderstorm but from the safety of my back porch.

Plenty of Iowa's, or plenty of Iowa? (A bigger state than one might have thought!) :-)

That's life, no directions and we just do our best. Funny there was no detour sign.
