About Food and Eating
Yummy!!
You name it, that, I might “make”
Today I'm "making" Hot Dogs with cheese and sauerkraut and having Bush Original Baked Beans soon for Lunch. Cherry Pie a la mode next or later for dessert.
And when I'm not “making” it chances are that we are eating out. I like a lot of places besides Cracker Barrel. Some we visit that are nearby, Fast Food would be McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Whataburger, Little Caesars(pizza), Chick-fil-A, and Kolache Factory. Favorites here would be Burger King for a sit-in Breakfast, Wendy's for sandwiches, and Subway and Kolache Factory for take-out.
If
we are better dressed for going in, it would be Orleans, Spring
Barbeque, Luby's, Willie's Grill, Carrabba's Italian, Chuck Wagon BBQ
and Burgers, La Finca(Mexican), and Apple-bees.
Our
Sunday Restaurant is Orleans, serving New Orleans type foods, much is
spicier than Mrs. Jim wants. Wendy's eat-in is good, ours isn't open
often for breakfast due to a help shortage. Burger King has Breakfast
coupons; our favorite there is BOGO egg, cheese, and Ham or Sausage
croissant sandwiches plus one senior coffee; it comes with one
helping tater tots and one medium coffee.

Smiling at the "making" of food... I do prefer a fresh home-cooked meal but some days are like that : microwaves and assembly!!!
Not so keen on MC Donalds and the likes myself. The only thing on your list I love is Sauerkraut We eat it with a sort of Dutch Bratwurst which goes with it.
Families seem to gather best around meals. How fortunate we are who have a remarkable range of choices nearby when it comes to life-sustaining food.
Ha ha, as a cook you sound much like me!
I've never eaten at Cracker Barrell! I used to like Applebees but they closed the two down nearest to me.
Sorry Jim, This is Debi being all anon and such.
All that food talk makes me hungry. :-)
Your response to the prompt, like your menus, has a little of everything. Good work.
Jim, you are good at "making" meals.
I am also microwaving a lot of stuff lately. Perhaps it's the age.
A lot of our restaurants are quite okay with the dress code, even with shorts and flip-flops (the weather is the excuse), but higher-end restaurants, no no, at least smart casual.
I enjoyed your foodie journey! I am a cook, a good cook, who got even better when Covid hit. The masterpieces from our kitchen amazed even me! I have slacked of a bit, but still enjoy hearing folks exclaim over something I have created.
Never realized how strange the 'making' of food is. Good one, Jim!
