Cow's in the pasture ~~ Tuesday Poem is Written
Bovine Pastures and ...
The poet writes
Let the bovine pasture at day
Her calf's in the shade 'neath a tree
Suckle her baby when she's back
She chews her cud while the kid sleeps
Let the farm boy write his ditty
A poem of the cattle and sheep
No sheep today they're being sheared
That's man's way of keeping them cool
Let the bovine pasture at day
Write of the habits of his cow
Use metaphors freely they sell
She's chewing her cud the calf sleeps
Farm lad is writing his memoirs
David-like the giant he slew
What good for him he didn't know
Baby's saved cow loves him for that
Bovine's resting under the tree
Chewing her cud while farm boy writes
Writes of the lion who attacked
Strangled by the herder calf sleeps
Night comes mama and calf are barned
Baby's suckled more next he sleeps
Mother chews her cud cogitates
Boy on the street selling his work

a soft lulling here - a lullaby of sorts, of the cradle - and interestingly enough, it makes me slip into this dreamy zone, as if I'm being rocked - as I slip through different realms, from the natural wonder of a cow birthing and then nurturing her calf, to a human mimicking the same -
as if we have to learn from them ...
I enjoyed this peaceful scene, boy and cow and calf..........going through their day.
I enjoyed this. So peaceful the cow and her calf.
Suckle her baby when she's back
She chews her cud while the kid sleeps
There is so much peace and tranquility in a mother and calf relationship. Yes, Dr Jim. Animals can be just as human!

I love to see the cows, horses and donkeys in the pastures as I go to town. I feel I am lucky. It is a connection to the past, the way people used to live.
What a lovely image of the farm lad and the cow and calf...
