NaPoWriMo 2018-05 -- Day 5, a Poem for Love's Weather

Weather for Couples;
correlated with the "Life in the Fast Lane" song and a "Metaphoric Weather Forecaster

Legend:
Purple:  Added for reading comfort
Blue:  Words to Verse one and the Chorus of "Life in the Fast Land" song
Black Italics:  Words of the common poem I wrote
Red Lines:  Word in verse of the Metaphoric Weather Man
Read them as:
read separately through the complete 'poem',
read them line 1 and 2 for the poem I crafted using the song as a base, and
read them line 2 and 3, etc. for the poem with my work followed by the Weather Forecaster Metaphor

Weather for Couples;
correlated with the "Life in the Fast Lane" song
and a "Metaphoric Weather Forecaster

Verse I:
He was a hard-headed man he was brutally handsome
Another man from the hot place, liked by people
Stand by for some vivid Climate Change, it's very nice now

And she was terminally pretty
and she was dangerously wonderfully beautiful
Sunny days way too early in spring

She held him up and he held for ransom
She was disgustingly high maintenance
Storms approaching, property damage imminent

In the heart of the cold, cold city
Relations like this cool off fast
Spring weather here always cold, and icy

He had a nasty reputation as a cruel dude
He was seemingly nice, except to the people who knew him
Bring in the pets and garage the car, hail sneaking in

They said he was ruthless said he was crude
He brings in the love spat storms, it will be worse
Man is ruining the environment, motive profit

They had one thing in common
The season's days will work together
March winds, April heavy showers

They were good in bed
Together close they were so compatible
Bring May Flowers

She said, ’faster, faster.’
and she said, "can't get enough"
I promise you will like my forecast

the lights are turning red.'
It won't last forever
Enjoy, good weather ends tonight

Chorus:
Life in the fast lane
Modern technology gives a nasty boost
What do you expect now we are 'civilized'?

Surely make you lose your mind
It's so very confusing, this romance stuff
Satellites and computers, we still make mistakes

Life in the fast lane
Find a marriage counselor soon
We will have six weather projections

Are you with me so far?
Love is the answer, stick with it
You can take your pick from those

LIFE IN THE FAST LANE
(By the Eagles)

He was a hard-headed man he was brutally handsome
And she was terminally pretty
She held him up and he held for ransom
In the heart of the cold, cold city
He had a nasty reputation as a cruel dude
They said he was ruthless said he was crude
They had one thing in common
They were good in bed
She said, ’faster, faster.’
the lights are turning red.'
.
Life in the fast lane
Surely make you lose your mind
Life in the fast lane
.
Are you with me so far?
.
Eager for action hot for the game
The calling attraction the drop of the name
They knew all the right people
They took all the right pills
They threw outrageous parties
They paid heavenly bills
There were lines on the mirror, lines on her face
She pretended not to notice she was caught up in the race
Out every evening until it was light
He was too tired to make it she was too tired to fight about it
.
Life in the fast lane
Surely make you lose your mind
Life in the fast lane
Life in the fast lane
Everything all the time
Life in the fast lane
.
Glowing and burning blinded by thirst
They didn’t see the stop sign
Took a turn for the worse
She said, ’listen baby. you can hear the engine rev.’
we’ve up and down this highway, haven’t seen a goddamn thing.’
He said, ’call the doctor.
I think I’m gonna crash.’
’the doctor say he’s coming but you gotta pay in cash.’
They were rushing down that freeway,
Messed around and got lost
They didn’t care they were just dieing to get off and it was
.
Life in the fast lane
Surely make you lose your mind
.
Life in the fast lane
Life in the fast lane
Everything all the time
.
Life in the fast lane
.
Life in the fast lane
Life in the fast lane

This was an interesting response to the prompt. I especially resonated with the lines about climate change.

Wow Jim. So good on so many levels. I love the dance of relations linked with the weather and climate. Brilliant.
