- Bjorn has introduced us to the "Heroic Sonnet" form and given us an example written by John Donne. As we were given some leeway in our product, mine has ten eight syllable lines instead of eighteen lines of ten syllables.

Dismal Endings That day we raced towards the edge Cosmos exploreers new search We passed by a dismal sight Earth laying in cosmic ash Burned like a hot cigarette Rolled round like a rolling pin Burned to ashes she was spent Last deer alive fought his last Lay at the end his hair scorched Panting for breath browned his tongue Broiled eyes gazing at the sun Mister Sun why did you flare Woeful dead have no remorse Braggert COVID carrier Unmasked caught the death himself Moons, planets, all life burned first _ _ _ - Poem Copyright, Jimmiehov 2020, All Rights Reserved - I am linked with Carrie Van Horn for her Photo Prompt at the Sunday Muse # 120, http://thesundaymuse.blogspot.com/2020/08/sunday-muse-120.html?m=1

Global Warming; one last time here "They" said it was too hard And it would never be Argue until we're Blue Liked not Global Warming "They" said winters are cold colder than our normal Plugged their ears when we told Hotter summers bring cold- er winters climate swing "Climate Change" denial Close their eyes, harder rains stronger storms, melting ice Wild animals dying I believe Climate Change Won't you think that way too _ _ _
- Please consider this Poem a tribute to Sherry Blue Sky. An avid Mother Nature supporter, hers at the link above will be her last there as the Imaginary Garden is set to close this year end, December 31.
For us; bad stewards of God's world Today I died I died amongst the elephants Dead ones and those who soon will die Martyrs for man rich men who buy Ivory trinkets adorn their bods Today I died I died amongst the living trees Soon I'll become a plank or spire 'Tree who lifted her arms to pray' I'm 'renewable' won't be me Today I died Drop of oil amongst other drops Died among barrels and barrels 'I'm here today gone tomorrow' Generations away may mourn Today I died I died amongst the rubble piles Rubble piles of used throwaways Organic and inorganic Served humanity then I died
Summer sees Summer looks out from under her covers Not liking what she sees closes her eyes That's not much help crawls back under the sheets But will this printscreen view ruin her day World turned upside down burning trees and grass There's blackened waters and fish are dying Crops won't grow burning hot in midsummer Acrid air is burning all creatures' lungs Ice caps and glaciers are melting away Towns are flooding water cycle keeps on Elephants are slayed for their body parts Price of a giraffe trophy mere snapshot People killing each other wonder why Ingrained that way for their own selfish gain Killing by guns killing by stroke of pen Much much more another desolate year Summer came
NaPoWriMo 2018-05 -- Day 5, a Poem for Love's Weather
Weather for Couples; correlated with the "Life in the Fast Lane" song and a "Metaphoric Weather Forecaster
Legend: Purple: Added for reading comfort Blue: Words to Verse one and the Chorus of "Life in the Fast Land" song Black Italics: Words of the common poem I wrote Red Lines: Word in verse of the Metaphoric Weather Man Read them as: read separately through the complete 'poem', read them line 1 and 2 for the poem I crafted using the song as a base, and read them line 2 and 3, etc. for the poem with my work followed by the Weather Forecaster Metaphor
Weather for Couples;
correlated with the "Life in the Fast Lane" song
and a "Metaphoric Weather Forecaster
Verse I:
He was a hard-headed man he was brutally handsome
Another man from the hot place, liked by people
Stand by for some vivid Climate Change, it's very nice now
And she was terminally pretty
and she was dangerously wonderfully beautiful
Sunny days way too early in spring
She held him up and he held for ransom
She was disgustingly high maintenance
Storms approaching, property damage imminent
In the heart of the cold, cold city
Relations like this cool off fast
Spring weather here always cold, and icy
He had a nasty reputation as a cruel dude
He was seemingly nice, except to the people who knew him
Bring in the pets and garage the car, hail sneaking in
They said he was ruthless said he was crude
He brings in the love spat storms, it will be worse
Man is ruining the environment, motive profit
They had one thing in common
The season's days will work together
March winds, April heavy showers
They were good in bed
Together close they were so compatible
Bring May Flowers
She said, ’faster, faster.’
and she said, "can't get enough"
I promise you will like my forecast
the lights are turning red.'
It won't last forever
Enjoy, good weather ends tonight
Chorus:
Life in the fast lane
Modern technology gives a nasty boost
What do you expect now we are 'civilized'?
Surely make you lose your mind
It's so very confusing, this romance stuff
Satellites and computers, we still make mistakes
Life in the fast lane
Find a marriage counselor soon
We will have six weather projections
Are you with me so far? Love is the answer, stick with it You can take your pick from those

- At first I was going to write my works in step with "Highway to Hell" but decided to use "Life in the Fast Lane" as with it was more in step with Paul John Deare's prompt, see link to his prompt above.
