Whisper Sweet Nothings

Whisper some sweet nothings to me was heard.
Come over here, near, I want your embrace.
I want so badly, please start with a hug.
He came with a sigh, he'd been there before.

In this fog it's hard to discern who cares,
cares so very much for one of his kind.
I want to hear your longing for love, feel
your quivering body's message for me.

Draw under this light my love, tell me now.
Tell of your love and wanting that I crave.
Oh yes, oh oh, oh yes, whisper once more.
Close your eyes dear, can you feel my steel?

Another Jack the Ripper foggy night,
.

one more body count her stiletto tolled.

Eating -- Baked Potato with Texas BBQ

Had a BBQ
'stuffed' potato yesterday
cheese, butter, and chives
On the side dills and onions
Healthy onion rings not fried

When I'd had enough
was to the restroom I went
pretty, clean, unique
Mind the sign, "Please Wait" it said
"Wait to sit" not in my plans

Our New School

A big dream, little poem, for you today:

I'm gonna love our new school
It's a school for learnin' how
Learnin' how to dance a pole

I've seen it done on TV
It's what I've wanted to be
Learnin' to be a pole dancer

I'll buy a pretty new suit
It's like a Speedo with stripes
Learnin' I'll do, in this school

............................................................................... Pole dancer's what
............................................................................... I always wanted to be

Angels on the clouds -- Blog4Peace

.Dona Nobis Pacem (Latin for Grant us Peace)

Angels sitting on their clouds;
(two poems)

Peaceful scene up here,
with the angels sitting on their clouds

Wringing their hands,
will there be peace today, could they help

Remembering that day sublime,
"Peace on earth, good will towards man"

and:

Floating clouds galore
An angel sits on each one
Waiting for an earthly task to do
Or perhaps get called up to Heaven
For her God there to serve

Mom's jumped down
that day. We were coming into Omaha
I missed her dying about the time I saw the clouds
Her angel had gone down on assignment
Escort my Mom to see her Lord

Lou Reed; a tribute

Songs with words I could never write.
Songs written and sung by Lou Reed.
Punk-poet of Rock'n Roll they called him. Singer of the seventies,
many called it "just noise."

But gradually they all, we all, learned a new vocabulary. That was like Lee would say,
"truly, truly a sin."
Things have changed, we have changed.
Like a lie that isn't malicious nor does it
hurt a soul,
maybe it isn't a sin?
.
Things have changed, we have changed.
Words of .s e x .and. d r u g s. are in all the songs of the 2000's now.
Our generation's 1960's and 70's were just a bit ahead of their time. But that made it what it was, a new Bible for song.

So let's all hear it for Lou Reed.
For you, Lou, we will
"Take a Ride on the Wild Side."

                     - - - - - -

...."Walk On The Wild Side"
Holly came from Miami, Florida
Hitch-hiked her way across the U.S.A.
Plucked her eyebrows on the way
Shaved her legs and then he was a she
She says, "Hey, babe
Take a walk on the wild side"
She said, "Hey, honey
Take a walk on the wild side"

Candy came from out on the Island
In the back room she was everybody's darling
But she never lost her head
Even when she was giving head
She says, "Hey, babe
Take a walk on the wild side"
Said, "Hey, babe
Take a walk on the wild side"
And the colored girls go
"Doo do doo do doo do do doo ..."

Little Joe never once gave it away
Everybody had to pay and pay
A hussle here and a hussle there
New York City's the place
Where they said, "Hey, babe
Take a walk on the wild side"
I said, "Hey, Joe
Take a walk on the wild side"

Sugar Plum Fairy came and hit the streets
Looking for soul food and a place to eat
Went to the Apollo
You should've seen them go, go, go
They said, "Hey, sugar
Take a walk on the wild side"
I said, "Hey, babe
Take a walk on the wild side"
All right, huh

Jackie is just speeding away
Thought she was James Dean for a day
Then I guess she had to crash
Valium would have helped that bash
Said, "Hey, babe
Take a walk on the wild side"
I said, "Hey, honey
Take a walk on the wild side"
And the colored girls say
"Doo do doo do doo do do doo ..."

Sorrow or Surprise Day

Today was sorrow or surprise day for Jakey.
That was what the horoscope said it might be.
Poor Jakey, he didn't know what to do.
How do you conjure up a surprise?
Or how does one avoid his sorrow?

His hands were of no use to him,
neither was his mind.
His destiny was in the stars.
The decision was not his to make,
it would be come what may.

If only he could get up, stand,
and then run away from it all.
But that would not be happening for a bit.
His mother, mother nature, would see to that.
Jakey is a six months old little boy.

- - - - - -

Jakey here is only six months old.  But this happens to many.  The babies in the process of growing of course.  For some children it is temporary.  Others, in various stages of life, from birth through death, suffer defects or trauma.  That might come from birth, accident, abuse, war, disease and sickness, stroke, aging, or other.

I could not write about the latter, just think about them.  I could not emphasize enough to write.  At least not now. So I chose Jakey.  For him there is exuberant hope and expectation.

Missed the Mail;
a her and him piece

Post carrier has come and gone
Just a little bit late today
I missed it big, nothing for you
May I e-mail my note of love

I will still love you when you're late
There's nothing witty I can say
Pining away, I miss you so
This is my e-mailed note with love

Note:  I'm not late a lot, at least for the important things.  Most of them.  I'm most infamous for being an hour late for Mrs. Jim's and my wedding.  That was unfortunate and not very much my fault.  It happened over forty years ago so I think the marriage took. (Read more about all that here)

Think Sleep

.

Thinking tonight

Tonight as I lay here and cannot sleep
I think of what my mother has taught me
I tried to get to sleep by counting sheep
My trouble is there are no sheep to see

When the sandman is saying no sleep yet
And I'm so tired, I take my mom's advice
She taught me a trick I will not forget
If I really want to sleep shut my eyes

Note: We have a couple's marriage story about this. I don't ever remember my mother teaching me but once when I could not sleep Mrs. Jim told me to close my eyes. I acted as if I had never heard or known of this help before. It has been a joke between us for many, many years now. "Oh yes, I must close my eyes."

My Friend

.

My Friend

I have a friend, his name is Jim
We have been friends since man knew time
My friend lives in a fine small house
He has a wife--lives there with him

He is retired and does not work
All work no play is not for him
No dull boy is he. He's at peace
with himself, church he will not shirk.

Ne'er a cross word between us two
Drive each other to the doctor
And we play some golf when we can
It's because we are friends, thank you

The Big Change

.

The Big Change

I called you all together
some changes are to be made

For eons you guys coasted
never much energy spent

Pull up your sleeves, boots go on
please don't blame it on the tilt

Winter, ice and snow won't do
greening in, Spring, share your wealth

Autumn, stop blaming the Fall
Summer, spread your heat around

(The seasons have a new boss
who was high up in the banks)

And don't blame it on the moon

Notes:
1.  I remember when cabinet members were appointed from business cronies and political campaign contributors when technical savvy, people caring, and other knowledge bases were important and different for each position (i.e. a banker guru for NASA's administrator, etc).
2.  Snow scenes I photographed are from Main Street of Tekamah, Nebraska.  That is the town where I graduated from high school.

Little Lies -- Monday Toads -- Two Shoes Tuesday

.
Little White Lies

It's a little fib I tell
sure it won't send me to Hell

Santa comes in the middle
of the night--to bed, be quick

It won't hurt, nurse's needle
not even a little bit

I am fit as a fiddle
everyone falls--I'm not sick

Hello Satan sir. Yes sir,
there will be no lying here
