Angels on the clouds -- Blog4Peace

.Dona Nobis Pacem (Latin for Grant us Peace)

Angels sitting on their clouds;
(two poems)

Peaceful scene up here,
with the angels sitting on their clouds

Wringing their hands,
will there be peace today, could they help

Remembering that day sublime,
"Peace on earth, good will towards man"

and:

Floating clouds galore
An angel sits on each one
Waiting for an earthly task to do
Or perhaps get called up to Heaven
For her God there to serve

Mom's jumped down
that day. We were coming into Omaha
I missed her dying about the time I saw the clouds
Her angel had gone down on assignment
Escort my Mom to see her Lord

How wonderful to imagine an angel sitting on each cloud and watching over us all.

Peace, Jim.

The vantage from a plane is one of the scenes of peace which may be most powerful because its so far removed from that hard human world below. No wonder angels fly ... great job.

Beautiful poems and wonderful photos, Jim. I can just see each cloud with its own angel. Lovely. And comforting to know your mom was escorted on her journey! When I get there, I'll look her up:)

I'm so sorry you couldn't be there to see your mom off on her journey. I wonder if you felt her brush past? I was there for my mom, but missed my dad's leaveing. I wish you peace, Jim.

What a lovely thought … she passed by and touched your cheek on her way up (every mother remembers the soft curve of their children's cheeks - even when they are a grown men :)

Two beautiful pieces about angels among the clouds, Jim! I love being up in an airplane in the clouds, it does so very much feel like it could be a glimpse of Heaven! I remember too, the long plane trip home to attend my mother's funeral, I wasn't able to say goodbye either, it made me sad. Still, we rejoice because we know for certain that the angels guided them safely home! Thank you for both if these poems for Two Shoes Tuesday. I love how you combined the peace theme, surely sometimes we make the angels cry!

Oh, Jim, this is lovely. I was lucky to be with my mom, but I have a song I think you would appreciate, because it's about seeing angels fly. If you like, please click on this link and you can hear me sing the song and read the words. Your poem made me miss my mom so much... such a touching thought, the angels sitting on the clouds. Peace, Amy

Great poem. I've always liked to think that there were angels floating around the clouds when I looked up at the sky.

Did your mom really pass on and you just missed her? If so, i'm very sorry for your loss and sorry that you didn't get to see her in time before she went to be with gods angels.
: )
