Saturday Centus: Jailed

To whom it may disturb:
.
A quick SOS:  My bloodthirsty, brutal, and barbarous captors did away with our coach around midnight last; now our opportunity for gold ribbons at Junior Olympics is minimal but a hasty dispatch of fighting corps with ransom funds could pull us away from additional harm.
.
Your pitifully off buddy, Clark K.

Saturday Centus: A Family Story

,
.
"Once upon a time there three bears who had been eating beans. They..."

"You stop that," Mom said sternly.

"Wait! There's more!" said Dad as he began laughing loudly.

"Oh Dad.  There won't be any more. And you know it, this is silly. That is all of the story," said Mom as she watched him and us very closely.

My sister and I joined Dad in his laughter. Mom had endured this many times, how many we wouldn't dare to guess.

One thing we didn't guess about though, is that we knew we would never hear the rest of the story from Dad.

Saturday Centus: Xentor dismayed!

.
"I'm slipping!" shouted out Freddy from the very top of the climber chain, "help me!"
"Well, don't look down," hollered Xentor as he dialed 911.
"Operator, we've got a situation here on the climbing rock. Come quickly!"
"Yes, a climber is slipping, bring the hook and ladder fire truck."
"Help me fast, I'm slipping off my quit smoking pledge. Gotta' have a cigarette, quick!" moaned Freddy loudly.
"Never mind Operator, it's just a dummy here who needs to fall. It's not the rock he is falling off of."
"No, he's falling off the wagon. And has rocks in his head!"

Saturday Centus: Esmeralda gets a shot of you-know-what from Xentor!

.

"What's wrong, Esmeralda," Xentor asked, "you've been dumping around now most of the day."

"Oh, Uncle!  I am glad you noticed.  I just can't seem to get started with my term paper."

"Well, perhaps I can help," offered Xentor in his big brother sort of way, "I'm experienced.  What is your theme?"

"Part of my trouble, I'm not even collected enough for a theme.  I don't have a theme yet" she said with a wimpy little voice, "thanks but forget it."

"It's an amusing little whine you've got there.  Good start for a theme?"

"'Little muse of mine; an amusing whine'."

"Uncle!  You're so brilliant!"

Saturday Centus: Green Harley Boy and Blonde Sally

"Just think," he said, "if you'd a married me you would have had it all. You wouldn't be havin' to work, you could've had a lovely trailer home in your driveway, and "

Green Harley Boy was interrupted by Blonde Sally's retort, "Yeah, and the tractor you rode in on."

She continued, "Why did your wife leave you anyway?"

"She wanted a Ritz Carlton life.  No worries, no cows in the barn, one with silk satin sheets."

"That's an oxyimbecile. He don't know what he's talkin' about," quipped Blonde Sally, "ain't no such thing as silk satin sheets.

"Let's be quiet and enjoy this motorcycle ride."

Saturday Centus: Will the dancer get her man?

.

It was late in the afternoon. He'd eaten, sunned and eaten some more.

Back home kids were sleeping, pets were fed, and Monk was on TV.

Here the daylight now began looking forward to a beautiful evening at sea.

Out of the corner of his eye Smitty could see one of the dancers approaching. Instantly his heart was going pita-pat.

This wasn't in the plan. He was a married man minding his own business, what was she doing here?

"Mr. Smith, I have come," the beautiful lady said.

"Oops, wrong number!" he cried.

"Oh no, I'm living the dream, man..."

Saturday Centus: Iadra gets big help from Xentor (Money won't melt in your hands)

.
Iadra was so proud of her new purchase. She had gotten the whole slew very cheap. And brightly colored they were so pretty.

But when arrived home with her treasures they had all melted. Some even had melted in her hands. Why had she not asked for a bag?

She called her good friend, Xentor, for advice and his consolence.

"You go right down and ask for your money back. Scream and holler if you have to."

"I'll just do that," Iadra said

"How much did you pay for those beads?" asked Xentor.

"It was only ninety-eight cents..."

Saturday Centus: Isadora and Xenter Say Goodbyes

For today "Saying goodbye was harder than she thought..." is our Saturday Centus prompt word group.

Here is my story in 107 words as required (could have been less):

- - - - - -

It seemed the week had barely started and now she was to leave. Saying goodbye was harder than she thought...

Isadora's visit with Xentor was a nice respite. But time had gone so fast. If only she could hide away in one of his closets until her ordeal was over.

First, clean her house before the sheriff took it away. Five payments behind and empty cupboards faced her.

On the way to the car, Xentor slipped her a small heavy envelope.

Isadora didn't open it until she was on her way. Voila! Cousin Xentor had saved her day! Inside the envelope were 200 bright fifty dollar bills.

°It is Saturday Centus day. Jenny in her blog,
...off my tangent... , has challenged us with writing a 106 word story using these seven words, in order, "Saying goodbye was harder than she thought...".
°That is 100 of our words plus the seven she has required. She did allow less, but I made it to an even 107.

°Jenny also had a picture of a child waving goodbye that we could use or we were allowed to use our own. I opted to use this one of my friend, Juan and his friends. The Ford Model T belongs to Juan. It trolls along at a steady 30 mph on the highways.

Saturday Centus: The Chair, the Cat, and Xentor

.
It was a cold and rainy day. The chair dominated the small room. That chair and the cat in the chair.

Xentor knew only one way to get warm and have any rest. Make friends with the cat and share the place to sit. A saucer of milk would do the trick for now.

The cat drank slowly if at all. All the while making a small crying sound.

Xentor pried it's mouth open and found a fish hook stuck in the roof. Carefully he removed the hook like he did on fishing trips.

The cat said, "Meow, meow."

Xentor had made a friend for life.
