The Cat -- NaPoWriMo Day 28 -- a Shape, Shaped, or Concrete Poem

                  The Cat in the Window

                           (an)       (an)
                      (Ear)     (Ear)
                     in the    window
                my cat in the window
cat in the window looking out
(Eye) looking in, out for her friends, birds
Birds are singing, cat is smiling applause
Sits, stares, and smiles for me
Smiling at me ready for her food
She's smiling at me ready for her meal
She's smiling at me ready for her tasty meal
When it comes she'll jump down to where
She'll jump down where I am
(Leg     ) ready for supper now ready to eat, chomp down
(Leg     ) wants it now ready to eat, chomp, swallow it down
(Leg     ) wants it now ready
(Foot      ) she'll be saying, "please, please, I want to eat"
(Foot      ) she gets her bowl will say  (tail tail tail tail tail tail tail tail)
"Meow, meow, thank you, thank you" chomp, "Meow, I love you" chomp chomp  "Purr purr  purr   purr    purr     purr      purr       purr        purr . . . "

Amber was a nice had.  She died in 2013 at age 19.

Coming fast -- a Humbug Poem

Humbug

Christmas is coming fast
Faster than this man wants

Less a week away
Stores marking down wares

My list is short this year
Since you have left my heart

Ho ho ho ho ho Scrooge
had it right all along

Tiny Tim come rescue

 - The picture is of daughter Karen's cat, Amber. It was sleeping on her bed, just minding it's own business.  I posted it in 2008, she has since died (link).

 - One more time again this obviously isn't really me, I always look forward to Christmas. And I've been happily married for a long time. I have, though, experienced this episode I wrote of, in another life. It's the pits being alone on Christmas.

Thursday Challenge Poem, a "Predicament"

A Monumental Predicament;
 seeing reality through distorted lens

"Is it permitted," she asked,
"Five second rule I dare ask
May I blow dust off my crisp
Before it goes in my mouth

Or should I open a new
Feed this crisp to my feline
She'd have a tad to much salt
Dust.  Another hair ball start

I will not sleep tonight, not
until I know the answer
Monumental problem brews
What O what now shall I do

We will ask the cat, she knows
She eats off the floor, sometimes
I watch her, no worries there
O dear, O dear, I will cry."

Ninth LIfe Poetry

My Tale of My Tail;
Cat with Nine Lives

There once was a cat who really did have nine lives
Grateful cuss, each death's new life credited a friend

Then one day, life of eight, his earthly time 'bout up
Before he was looking forward to happy times

But come life number nine he began counting down
Down to the very end, day there would be no more

Notes:
 1. Fireblossom want us to write our last message with death looming.
 2. The Cat is our daughter's "Amber".  Amber stayed with us for her last life which ended sometime during her 19th year on earth.  Amber was a rescue cat who led a good life. Picture from my other blog, http://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/2007/04/cat-whisperer-and-cat-in-window.html
 3. I have blogged about having nine lives and nine near deaths before, on January 6, 2006 ( http://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/2006/01/my-nine-lives-or-my-near-death.html ).

Adi Can . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Wish you all a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Adi is doing pretty good now. She is in no pain and would just like to get this halo collar off for keeps. I did cut an inch and a half off, that makes it easier for her. [large picture] [super size] She can eat with her doggie halo on if I hold her bowl up. She really doesn't like to drink that way. Also for small treats she can do with it on, we don't give her the larger ones as she can't get off the floor the part she bites off and puts there for her second and more bites. So for meals, I take the doggie halo off. She eats, drinks, and goes outside for a brief moment. Then it is back with the collar.
Adi knows and likes PUPPY LOVE too!
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
