One Single Impression: Amuse

Amuse:
Bozo The Clown

Bozo isn't his really name
Bozo can make you laugh

Bozo has a brother Binky
Bozo can make you cry

Bozo lives in a Crosley car
Bozo can make you mad

Bozo has a red shiny nose
Bozo can make you tense

Bozo wears striped overalls
Bozo can make you wish

Bozo's kerchief is checkered blue
Wish that you were a clown

One Single Impression: Betrayal

.

Jailed man picture: Nicolas Fouquet and replica prison cell in the
Vaux-le-Vicomte cellar. (see below—

Betrayal:
one crook's lament

here am I locked up
betrayed my friend Aramis
now my end reward
jail is too good for me
misuse of public moneys

We visited Vaux-le-Vicomte castle in France in the Spring of 2009. It was constructed under order of Nicolas Fouquet (see our Spring 2009 Europe Holiday).

Aramis: fictional musketeer in novels by Alexandre Dumas, père. (Wikipedia link)

Jailed man picture: The Nicolas Fouquet replica prison cell in the Vaux-le-Vicomte cellar. Fouquet was replaced as Minister of Finance by his his cunning agent and successor Jean-Baptiste Colbert. "In early 1665 Fouquet was transferred to the fortress of Pignerol. There, Eustache Dauger, the man identified in contemporary official correspondence as the Man in the Iron Mask, served as Fouquet's manservant. The former minister bore his imprisonment with manly fortitude, and composed several mediocre translations in prison. The devotional works bearing his name are apocryphal.
According to official records, Fouquet died in Pignerol on March 23, 1680."

One Single Impression: Notebook

The Notebook

Black and small, one made to fit a pocket
Always with him, his second memory
One day I peeked surreptitiously there
Into his little black precious notebook

Found there numbers friends for whom he might call
Addresses of those he some day would write
Books of love and mystery for to read
Web pages for leisure computer time

The very last page was most surprising
Were directions to his home just in case
Just in case he was lost and didn't know
Helping hands could send him on his way home

One Single Impression: Weed

.
The Weed

Lowly weed growing in a sidewalk crack
Trampled by many yet noticed by some
Wise bodies busy rush, they see me not
Seems old and young enjoy my friendly smiles
The young pluck my smiles, bouquets for their Mums
Savored by old, adorning their lapels
Though I'm just a weed in the sidewalk crack
For some my blossoms are pretty flowers
Dreamers see what wisemen can't

The flower pictured is from a previous post . It was found growing by the sidewalk in Killarney, Ireland. I did not notice but a part of it may have been growing from a crack in that sidewalk.
