Rabit in the Garden Patch

“Gardening is not a rational act." by Margaret Atwood is my prompt . . . Why. Why do I not like Like gardening at all Making for wild bunnies Food meant for the table With a hoe cut the weeds Rabbits coming at night Liking carrots and beets Party in lettuce patch And do they eat the weeds Of course they dont want those They like the food we eat But I forgive, Nature's way . . Word meeting poem, "teeth", "hammer", and "blooms"

Been asked, "do something hard" Three words unrelated Into related words You'd need to scratch your head That I did, twas easy The answer popped right in teeth Just ask the help of friend "Match teeth", hammer", and blooms" My friend "Ai" is close Right around the corner You can ask him as well . . . Peace Through the Hills Drifting the hills Big ones and small ones Small raft carries me Mind is opened wide My wife's love for me Those thoughts rushing me Does she love as much Much as I love her That would be a lot More than money buys Awake at night sure Words wont tell it all . . . Open Door

The door was open Pretty skunk walked in She saw the mirror Saw herself in it Didn't like the looks Didn't know 'twas her Afraid it might spray Tried running away But the open door was in the mirror Tried that skunk Both spraying now Stinky mess drifted Drifted down the halls . . . My Buddy has Died

She is no longer here

Adi, her pretty name

A pet therapy pair

Was with me all the time

Died in 2012

I miss her very bad

Still a tear in my eye

Comes when I think of her

Miss her very much still

Unreplacable dog

Kids do it

 Kids will giggle,

That's their nature

What makes them laugh

It's things, just things

No way we'd laugh

Over grandpa

His Zipper's loose

The milk's greening

Baby just burped,

Juicy wet burp

Even the dog

He messed the floor

Grandma wipes up

You name it, Kids laugh

Maybe we as well

SOLASTALGIA

. . . SOLASTALGIA .

Oh how I miss my freedom .
I reminisce days gone by .
My freedom to roam the hills .
Pikes Peak drive the racer car ...

Other places too, "just go" .
I'm here with my wife, one room .
One room apartment for us .

"Senior Living" it is called ... No more cooking, we are old .
Breakfast is seven to nine .
Noon lunch will be eleven .
Eleven to one is right .

Sign the book if we go out .
I miss my four bedroom house .
Lock the door and drive away .
But we are "taken care" of .

We can though call our daughter,
Or other child, they might take

Therapy Dog

. . Adi Beagle Dog

Adi Beagle dog and I were a pair
We were a registered Therapy Pair
 Registered animal therapy pair
Visiting folk who're not doing so well

She loved visiting the Alzheimers wing
The folk there loved her so and she loved them
They would tell her about their dogs at home
 Adi'd listen intently, lovingly

Adi died in 2012, we miss her
So now she's in Dogy Heaven, minding
Minding the sick and troubled . . .

Breathtaking

It takes your breath away

Don't go near what I found

This time seems out of world

A lake of water pink

Rainbow inching away

Daybefore pearly blue

Boats being rowed around

Around and under it

No boats today splashing

Splashes would burn your skin

Chemicals unheard before

A new world has been made

World above and below

World not fit for beings

Even scientists don't know

"Stay away, burn to ashes."

Deserts Today

.

Im getting old now

90's caught me

But that doesn't hurt

Deserts still the best

I've found a new friend

Strawberry ice cream

Never liked before

Now she's my sweetheart

“This world has no meaning. Why would we bother?"

My writing prompt today asks the question,Please tell us, how would YOU answer ‘this most dark and demoralised question: “This world has no meaning. Why would we bother?"

    Mother's Car

Mother's car sat in my garage

Had sat there for ten useless years

Before she died you could see her

She and the pretty Ford Mustang

They were all around her small town

Running errands or bringing food

Going to church, you could name it

I had bought it for her, stick shift

Four on the floor as she had wanted

Wanted to know gear it was in

After she died her car was idle

Sat up until we hauled it away

Strange thing a young lady to rescu

Off the tow truck I gave it to her

She liked it like a lover's sweetheart

Father was a Mustang mechanic

Now it runs all around doing good

Running errands like Mother had been

This poem is a car that was fallen.

This poem is a car that will not start.

This poem is a car with broken buttons.

This poem is a car with flat tires.

This poem is a car with a slipping transmission.

This poem is a car that drives like it's a hundred years old.

This car is a car that's been in the garage ten years without being driven.

This poem is a car that was for sale.

This poem is a car that I gave away.
