There she has it and some of her other pictures also posted. She reserves all rights but has released use by us for our poems. I made a PrintScreen copy photo to post here.) - I'm linked with Karin in the Imaginary Garden at http://withrealtoads.blogspot.com/2018/08/going-going-gone-midweek-prompt.html?m=1 - Karin was remembering the poems she had memorized when she was young. She then realized that many used the word "going" or another form of "go" in them. - This process was the basis for her a asking us to remember along with her and then to WRITE a poem using "going" fairly near its beginning. BTW, I've used the word "going" 17 times on this blog https://jimmiehov6.blogspot.com/search?q=going&m=1 One them is titled, "Going, going, gone" as the title of Karin's post with the Toads above. - If Nursery Rhymes count I'm sure "This Little Pig . . . " was my first to memorize.
Outside Homps, France, riding a canal boat on the Canal du Midi.
I am running away, I'll go to stay. I am going to play, don't hold me back. You can come along or I'll go alone. I've done it before, I'm running away. I am running away to find new friends. I am going to where it's warm all year. You can find me there and stay I don't care. I've done it before, I'll do it again.
I am running away, I won't come back. I am going where a new life I'll find. You can join in then but I'm going now. I'm doing it again, going to stay.
New Moon not Blue - an Acrostic Write for dVerse Haibun Night
Hey Diddle Diddle;
The Cat And The Fiddle
Hey, hey, in the sky, there loomed the moon. The moon was bright that night, a New-moon for our delight. Who doesn't love to look way up there, thousands of miles away, and see a sight like that.
Diddle and piddle, some plod their time away, never looking up into the sky. They miss the beauty of our universe, especially the visible stars, planets, and our moon. This New-moon for human consumption by the eye.
Diddle and diddling tonight, there was to be a special event. Telescopes were out, binoculars too. Awaiting an almost miracle event, hinted but not told what it was to be. Could it be fake news, many speculate.
The children with their noses up in the air, scented a special event as well. Their minds were running wild, how would we know? Conjuring up answers to this question, some matching science's reports and others letting their minds run wild, they kept on.
Cat in the alley was up to something. Had that to do with the speculations? She meowed nonstop, looking up into the sky. She wanted to be able to tell, for sure not miss the excitement.
And then the sky opened up, the clouds went away and all could see. A gorgeous New-moon was hanging high in the sky.
The Ozark Boys and Girls were making music like never before. Hill Billy music, to tunes all listening would know. Folks were stomping their feet and clapping their hands. Dancing was to begin. Dancing in the halls and in the streets.
Fiddle de do, the Fiddler did play. He played his heart out in tribute to the New-moon. He cried some tears; the listeners were too. Handkerchiefs if they had, otherwise on their sleeves the tears were wiped away.
Cats singing low now
Fiddlers loved their audience
Trees were clapping leaves
The Cow Jumped Over The Moon
The people were looking up as a never-seen-before event was happening. The New-moon was smiling, looked ready to applaud. The Fiddlers stopped for a moment before going wild with those strings. Never in the Ozarks had the Ozark Boys and Girls seen such a sight.
Cow, Farmer Brown's was to be surmised, came flying around but seemed to be headed to the New-moon. She was, she was! Flying to the New-moon! She's on her way!
Jumped one big jump then two, up to the New-moon. Sat on his lap, licked his face. New-moon just smiled as he ate it all up. He'd never seen anyone doing that before, nothing like this.
Over, she's going over the people below were crying out, "Careful up there." The cow didn't mind it seemed, perhaps she was ready to go home, home on the other side. Then it happened, she finished her jumps.
The world was going wild, dishes were running away with the spoons; dogs were laughing all over the world and Humpty Dumpty looked as he might fall. Who would put him back together if he fell? The other cows even got into the corn, waving The Cow along. She had jumped over the moon!! One of their kind over the New-moon.
Moon soup was the soup of the day, flavored by a few cow hairs. A Tribute to the Cow jumping over the New Moon.
Nature clapped to see
Such a sight never seen before
Trees closed their green eyes
My "Moon Jar" made by Mrs. Garriott, astronaut Owen Garriott's wife at her pottery shop. I worked with Owen some at NASA Houston.
Note: The lid's knob is the Earth and the jar body is The Moon. The jar is about eight inches high.

- 1. China has loaned some near extinct giant pandas to the US and various other countries. They have propagated well, the project was a sucess. The agreements are expiring and the pandas must be returned. The Washington D.C.'s three left for China this Wednesday , November 9. Only three others in Memphis, Tennessee, remain, scheduled to leave next year. [Click here to read more]
- 2. Right after my retirement (2001) during our three week visit to China we visitedChengdu to see the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries [China, Moscow, and the Panama Canal travel items were on my bucket list-you can search my blog for our 2006 Moscow to St. Petersburg River Cruise via Viking Cruises glimpses here]
When a kid drops out of college there are a lot of pastime things to do. I had three jobs**, for fun I had a steady girlfriend, dated a few others, and learned cars from Bill, an ex professional race car. driver, who was a quality control inspector in our plant. From what I learned I was able to hop my two-year-old Ford Tudor passenger car up so fast that in street racing it would beat the other modern automobiles.***
We had a race car, it was very fast, one that would almost always win the Saturday night "'B' Feature Race." We, with Bill driving most times, had to hold it back so that in the heat races it would not qualify for the "'A' Feature". If we raced in that "A" Feature another car with a Chrysler Hemi engine would most often win in a Plymouth coupe.*
Sometimes I got to drive, mostly after we blew our engine and it was more than our sponsor would pay for a new one. So the sponsor dropped us and we got another. This sponsor wanted us to have a Chevy and he furnished us with a 1937 Chevrolet with a hopped up GMC truck engine.
That was what I was driving when a front wheel broke at the far corner. I went over the dirt embankment and into a dried up salt lake. I was not hurt and we had the car going again the next week.
So, ... when Mrs. Bill came out that day, she hardly stopped walking while telling her Hub that she was leaving. Bill didn't cry that I knew of, cry as I later was to do when my first wife left me for one of her young students (they married and divorced, both within a year).
I never saw Mrs. Bill again, I hope she was happier with a fresh start. Bill recovered very fast and had a steady soon again and that blossomed into marriage
That was another short chapter in my life, his steady had a sister who liked me lots.

* For more about our racing effort and this car, click here . Our car looked like the coupe above with the fenders cut back to about three inches, the running boards and headlights removed for safety, and stronger bumpers. Our racing car number, 88, was painted on the doors and on the trunk lid.
** My three jobs were 40 hours in a watch factory, working part time at a Car Park Garage, and Saturday nights stuffing the ads into the Sunday Lincoln Journal comics. Eleven years later I went back to school and was awarded three degrees by going ten more years mostly night school while working.
*** Unlike the youth today, I didn't continue stoplight racing for over half a block, except out on the new Interstate Highway which was soon to open.
-> On the first Weekly Scribblings of the new year (Jan 6 2021), Magaly will invite us to revisit our Weekly Scribblings selection, and write new poetry or prose using one of our 2020 prompts. Please add the title (and link, if you can) of your chosen prompt to your post. Don’t feel like searching? No problem. Here are some nice choices:

- I am linked with Carrie who is celebrating The Sunday Muse event of having made 200 posts prompting and goading us to write. For this celebration she posted ten previously used photos from which we should choose, I chose the two above. See them all and links to others at http://thesundaymuse.blogspot.com/2022/02/sunday-muse-200.html
- Carrie said, "Welcome Muse Friends to the 200th Muse prompt & celebration! April 2018 was when it all began with the talented poet, Chrissa, me (Carrie), and eventually our amazing poet friend Shay. It has been a wonderful experience, and today I want to thank you all for being a part of it!"
- Carrie also asked us to write additionally, " . . . when you write your post, I want you to do one more thing. This time say a little something about yourself. Celebrations and parties are a great place to get to know each other and have great conversation."
I will write a little here about myself as I am a fairly newcomer to this Muse effort, only having posted most weekends since June 13, 2020. Some know me fairly well but here is more.
You can read still more from my submission for our 70th year High School class reunion, here. I missed the reunion, held last October for COVID-19 safety reasons.
My Bio, Shortened Edition
I was born in a farmhouse in Nebraska, north of Omaha about 40 miles. Mom and Dad sharecropped a small farm, 120 acres, from my grandfather. It barely supported the four of us, as a little sister was born five years after me. We were poor but I didn't know it then.
We now live in a large two-story home in Katy, Texas. One story and not so large is all the two of us need but this is Yuppie land where our daughter and her family settled after her five-year stint in London, U.K. Before that we lived near Montgomery, Texas for 17 years after our 23-year living in Friendswood, Texas. Right after marriage, now 49 years, we lived in Houston for a few years.
I went to college, the University of Nebraska, for three semesters and then dropped out. So I worked in a factory, Elgin National Watch Company in Lincoln Nebraska. Later in the Army, I was drafted for two years and after then reenlisted for three more. I took a 43-week class on the NIKE Hercules fire control system maintenance, which was two radars and a computer.
With my college and the Army school and experience I obtained a job as a Technical Representative Field Engineer, (Tech Rep) for Philco Corporation. At first I taught at the Army school, but then transferred to Manchester, N.H, to help make a U.S. Air Force Satellite Tracking and Control Station work and then to teach the Air Force how to operate it and to keep it running.
After three years I was transferred with our company, now belonging to Ford Motor Corporation, to NASA Houston Manned Space Center. Our job was to make everything except five IBM computers in the three-story control center work and afterwards to help operate it. We also ran simulations and taught the Astronauts how to make things work in Space, Appollo, Lunar Explorer, and Skylab. My expertise was Electric and Environmental Control, during Skylab missions I reported to EECOM in the Control Center Room, advising him of status and information to pass on to the Flight Director.
I had returned to college, night school, and after my last graduation started teaching Business Law night classes at the local community college. In 1980 the college made an offer than I could not refuse and I went to work teaching full time. I taught for 22 years (after working Aerospace Engineering for 19 years and the Army five) and in 2001 I retired at age 68.
My hobbies are blogging, Facebook, reading, Sudoku, ham radio, golf, chess, travel, grandchildren, and church work. I had a Vespa Motorscooter for my Army time as a work car; later during three years of freedom before Mrs. Jim came along I had a Honda street bike. For travel, Mrs. Jim and I have been to all 50 states and 76 different countries. We drove all over Eastern Europe but lately have mostly done cruises, primarily with Princess (15 cruises, one more soon, and 158 days with them).
I am not sure how much of my writing is poetry, but I started with that after visiting a poetry blog site. I started blogging in 2005. I have started a memoir write but doubt I will finish it.
