Flower Fun - a Sunday Muse Poem

   Blow to the Wind

Dandelions and Violets
My favorites since I was born
Violets take to my mother
Dandelions when choice was thin

Either one my mother would beam
Mothers are made for young ones' glee

Violets have seasons when to bloom
And dandelions go to seed
Those seeds kids can blow to the wind
Oft times the mothers will join in

NaPoWriMo 2018-04 -- Day 4, a Poem for Mom

First  Dandelions

The first two dandelions
were growing wild, in our yard
Our eight-year-old granddaughter
had the honor of picking

The first had gone to white seeds
she blew the seeds to the wind
Second was a nice yellow
that one she saved for her mom

Raring to go, Spring is here #2 ~~ a Poem for the Friday Writings

Spring has sprung;
  where are the wildflowers

Spring is for the flowers to shine
Wildflowers are special to me
Old ones, young ones, wherever found
In the fields or up from sidewalks
In the parks or at garbage dumps

No matter colors I like them all
Purple violets, wild pink roses
Yellow dandelions in grass
I'd pick one or make a bouquet
'Twould be for my mom or good friend

I loved my friends girls and boys, but
“Write love letters to wild flowers”

I picked this clump of clovers beside the sidewalk
leading to downtown Killarney, Ireland

Sunny Day Painting - a Write for dVerse Prosery

Me on our Alaska 2005 cruise excursion to the Yukon

Sunny day, I drive up to North Yukon's greenery, yellow dandelions and purple violets.  Spring had sprung, trees were green, shimmering water in streams and lakes was clear sky blue.  The trees' wet and shiny green new leaves shimmered too; the firewood turning gray they'd save it for next fall. (50

My old truck helped the scene, its fenders rusting green, trusty old Ford pickup made nineteen-forty-one.  Put me in the picture, driving clothes gave semblance of humanity's warmth.  Viewers would want to join blues in jeans and jacket, red and white shirt, white shoes. (44)

Bumper, bed boards, and chrome Fences, siding and roof, propane tank and faucets, with the chair all blend in.  Artists call them fillers.  My painting brush goes wild with colors abounding.  Seems as everything I do is stitched with its color. (41)

The brush does not mind, it enjoys the pozazz.  (9)

Notes:
   1. I think this would stand alone without illustrations, what say you?
   2. My Grandfather H had an old truck of this model, real pretty back then.
I rode with him a lot, hauling his stud horse around to visit the neighbors.

At the big ditch -- a Poem for Sunday

Young folk;
at the big ditch
Sunning on the bank of the big ditch
they laid in the sun and talked
They were too young to be romantic
but true romantic they showed

He picked her white ripe dandelions ripe
white fuzzy domes she would blow
She would cool his brow when he sweat
her hanky dipped in the stream

Time to go yellow flowers he picked
bouquet for his sweet young friend
Hand in hand slowly they walked the mile
lingered by her door they part

His text on the way home, come morning
meet you at our corner, I'll carry books

NaPoWriMo 2020 Day 22 - Earth Day Poem

     Sierra Club *

Earth Day 2020

April twenty-second again
The day, Earth Day 2020
To me it is recognition
Beautiful planet where we live

We plant new trees in its honor
Fertilize and trim what we've got
Trees and flowers Nature's resource
Beautiful planet we must help

Pick up trash that others have left
Proclaim to the world our duties
Food and clothing minerals and rocks
Beautiful planet sustains us

We mustn't forget the critters
They were here way before we came
Those critters and Indian race
Beautiful planet room for all

Earth Day 2020 calls us
Protect preserve and cultivate

Appreciation planet good

"A Day to Come" ~~ a Poem for Tuesday Plarform

They tried to bury us deep
They didn't know we were seeds
In horror they watched us grow

Grew to be pretty flowers
and lovely weeds praising God
Sunflowers, dandelions

Ridiculed for who we were
Race, color, and religion
Gender, marriage, and more

But we know their day is near
Gnashing teeth and Hell's fire
Hypocrites's retribution
