Said, Done, Butchered ~~ a Poem for Friday Writings

 .

Errant Cow

                      Well I've said it now
                      Laid food for the cow
                      Said what I know how

                      But it isn't done
                      Yes I've had my fun
                      Still cow needs a pun

                      A tasty wry curd
                      You can say the word
                      Make queen of the herd

                      Not good telling puns
(The finishing touch)                                   Butchered every one

Wasn't expecting the butchering as the finishing touch.. :) :)

Oh, poor cow! That's a 'finishing' touch for sure.

That's definitely a big finish

I've "reworded" this as I was horrified by the reading of these three comments above. My cow hasn't died, she's just not a good at telling puns. Like me.
Please forgive me please, guys.

Oh, that's better! Thanks for bringing out your real meaning more. (But you can see how we thought the other, in your first version.)

Butchering is such a clear cliche and cattle make us think of it. So it is no wonder you used the word. In the creative world, it is used quite a lot.

Oh glad you clarified. I saw your note on my comments page. Don't we all love a non-punning-cow! No worries. Thanks Jim!

If the response to a pun is a groan, is the response to a cow pun a moo?
