NaPoWriMo 2021, Day One

Little Old Lady; my LOL
She sits on my desk all day and night
She's inspiration for me to write
Paid ten dollars for her, she's all mine
Small Mexican boy with such a find
Buried 'neath backyard silt quite some time
That was his story I didn't mind
Lady of rust you're patient and kind
In you I trust theme meter and rhyme

This figurine definitely spoke to a bunch of us. Enjoyed your verse. Visiting from namysaysso.
Yeah, my father was given a couple figurines someone he knew bought in Mexico. Said to be very old. Probably not, but still fun to have around.
She’s gorgeous. Certainly deserves your appreciative poem.
A figurine with all the mysterious history around it can well be a good luck charm in the hands of a righteous Dr Jim! It may come to it some day, sir! Never can tell!
Hank
Had to chuckle at the trusting of your rusted lady .... nice write, Jim to launch National Poetry Month.
