Fun to picture the little group exploring. They were very brave, I think!
A fun and wonderful write Jim. The rhyme adds to the charm of this poem too.

Wonderful shot Dr Jim! This really brings out all those crazy things we did when young. It need not be something exotic, new or highly priced but just anything can. Its success will all depend on the ingenuity of the participants.

You paint a rich picture!
Yes! This is playful, another twist: even the tone sounds like a rhyme.
Sounds like fun! Insisting upon music even in the silence is a pretty cool idea to take from this. :)
Enjoyed the rhymes and visuals. It would be fun to explore and old house.
When I was growing up, only one new house after another. Nothing had been around long enough to be old! We would go play at all the construction sites, made each new house our playground until they put the locks on the doors, and we'd move on up the street!
Reaching back in time, a magical time .... I enjoyed this, Jim.
I have tramped around in an abandoned cabin in a wooded area adjacent to my great grandmother’s home in Arkansas ~ still remember the feeling of excitement mixed with fear.
I love this. I feel the imagination and discovery in those children who came upon a treasure house where they could dream.
