B a t m a n -- NaPoWriMo 2022

     For Many Years

B a t m a n's  been living in the comics
for many years he's been hiding there
Hiding from the parents so well
but now I've been told he's getting old

The kids have no problems finding him
he shows every day to those who love
Cares not love or like him in degrees
some have seen him not and he doesn't care

For his true fans he aims all to please
covets every "Like" that he can get
They're sorry for him, he's getting old
stumbles, falls, spits his cud, worse than that

Every comic wants their big heydays
Kids know he's been had, now finding tech

Poem -- Old Times are Gone

Photo furnished by Magaly Guerrero *

"Things were different back then"*

Sandals were for women
Flip flops became for men
Hats doffed for lunch and church
Men opened doors for gals

Naught to sixty in six
only hot rods could do
Space from here heaven
(place to go in comics)

Ate the food on your plate
No such thing microwave
but TV dinners in
Eat, watch Howdy Douty

Astronauts, topless beach
I lost my Internet
recipe, S.O.B!
Now are we; different then

Cool Joe ~~ a Poem

[click on picture for larger size]
["Back" button gets you back here]

Cool Joe

Here I sit, watching traffic flow
Flying Ace, dubyu dubyu One
Missions hundreds, Sopwith Camel

Famed Red Baron, nemesis mine
He didn't win, Snoopy retired
Noisy street doesn't bother me

Beagle dogs are the best, just ask
Ask 'Round Headed Kid', he'll agree
Charlie Brown.  Woodstock, he'll say too

Shortstop extraordinary
Our baseball team, we never win
Lucy Brown, she's the very worst

Down this busy street, to school trudge
They leave me by the door, alone
Where is Peppermint Patty now

That's where, when.  Why do I wake up
Once again, watching traffic flow
