Poem - Homecomming
Red flowers,

Make my Day;
make me smile
Things were simple the day I came back home
Tulips and Iris flowered early
That was the year that Daddy quit hogs
The price of pork had dropped. All time low
Dad cleaned the hog house. Painted it red
Donkey house made big on Dad's small farm
Dare I tell you what he had for me
Darned if it wasn't a hog house room
Other rooms were for leftover pigs
And donkeys who came up in the world
They cheered mornings while eating our Oats*
Smiles they brought that made me smile as well
*My oats roasted, Oats and Honey Bars

Note: This was not me in my poem. It was a fictitious older daughter come back home to live.
With the new Blogger dashboard I can't find my labels or how to add one.

Yes, I too struggled with the new Blogspot format. We will get there eventually!
It must have been nice for her to know there was a place for her when she came back home.
A terrific read, all the details so well evoked.
We should be telling the Blogger people about all the things we have trouble with in the new format.
Colourful memories, Jim, that made me smile too! The hard work with animals is so worthwhile, especially when they make you smile.
Nothing leftover about you in your dad's eyes!
