To the Beach
.
Buckets, blankets, long beach towels
Flip flops, sunglasses, bathing suits
Shovels, plastic pails, little rakes
Fins, flippers, goggles, and surf boards
Water, soda, sandwiches, crisps
Cakes and pies, watermelon too
Trip to the loo, kids in the car
Ready? Brighton Beach here we come

- Brighton Beach? One time when we were visiting in London, KP, Mrs. Jim, and SIL Bill went to Brighton for the beach. I was not quite up for going on that day. My loss. BTW, they took the train, no car.

You've captured the excitement of a day trip to the seaside in your 46 word list poem, Jim!
The alliteration adds to the busy atmosphere - and I love the way you subtly added the obligatory trip to the loo before setting off!
All the things we need, when we go to the beach. Loved it.
Ha, the checklist defines the spirit of this outing. A lovely rhythm in this verse too.

So much to pack if you go to the beach... been to Brighton once when we have a very long transfer when we went home from the US... Perfect from Gatwick
And what fun, gathering all that equipment together and taking off! (We have a Brighton Beach in Australia, too.)
