One Single Impression: Inner Voice

The good and the bad--the great divide

Once upon a time there were two voices
From what you will hear intentions were pure
The scheme it may seem shun hateful vices
Cursed was the blight cure was never found

He loved since the start from them he did ask
Some good from their hearts that choice out of love
The errant he gives a kind gentle shove
From this favored one--their own Inner Voice

Other twin rebelled errancy he sides
Mischief in their hearts evil deeds he cheers
Sideline coach is he makes the bad seem good
Dark ill-favored one--tempter Outer Voice

The good or the bad--each must decide

Sometimes, like twins, it's hard to figure out which is which.

Jim, so very true in many internal "relationships". I love this line:

Some good from their hearts that choice out of love

Super!

PS: you are very perceptive regarding the new grandmother bit. I congratulate you on your new jewel. It seems yes, that we will be grandparents sometime in February. We had mixed feelings about it as our son is young, young but now we are trying to make everything good happen out of it.

That outer voice can get one into trouble sometimes. A dividing struggle indeed. Have a great night.

Thank you Jim.
Each must decide...yes, as the strife between good and bad, and the inner voice and outer, will continue always.

Hope we are able to listen and heed to the sound of the genuine and good within us.

Jim,
Have you ever seen the movie "Night of the Hunter?"

Robert Mitchum is in it and has tatoos on the fingers of both his hands.

One is good and the other is evil and he explains to two children how they are always at war with each other.

This is a battle all humans fight at times.

I love that, the sideline coach statement, very true in many relationships and families. Beautiful poetry. Thank you for your comment lol (((Hugs))) :)

Sometimes it's not one side or the other but rather the middle where the way lies.

This one is so thought provoking.. The two distinct paths.. and the CHOICE that one needs to always make.. the "oldest" fight that ever occured, yet one which permeates into every scope of our being!
