Tell me where ...

"Tell me where you've been ...
Maybe I don't want to know ..."
So the song, "The Story -- So Much Mine" went

But I did want to know
so 'where' I found
'Where' was 'where' I thought it'd be, no place good

Had I a gun,
jealous guy that I am
There'd been a dead soul or two at that 'where'

Nice guy that I am
'there'  no gun had I
"T'was on the Isle of Capri" love was lost

oh! i like this, Jim. bring to mind, for me anyway, all those father-threats about protecting their little girls with shotguns and such. my own girl is only 8 so we haven't gotten to realizing any threats, yet. :)
hope you be well, nice guy that you are. :) enjoy the weekend... M

A great response to the prompt - and the song, Jim.

Good not to have a gun when instinct could overtake common sense.

Jim, thank you for your heartfelt comment on my poem. I so appreciate it. The loss is a different one, that happens sometimes in life, in a relationship that has always been close - a daughter lashing out and turning away, where when we "communicate" it is like she is speaking a different language, so no way to reach understanding on her side.......however life has these ups and downs and mothers are very good at waiting for the tide to turn and turn again. I am happy you got through your hard patch and found happiness again. Take care, Jim. You have such a good heart!

Better off to be without a gun when there is such strong temptation to use it

Oh yes, Jim, I agree with Susan. Better not to have a gun at such times. I'm not a father, not even a mother but, as a hands-on aunt, I know the feeling.

Peace and love can solve more problems than a gun. Please have a safe and blessed time, Dr & Mrs Jim :)
