Wearied Artist -- a Poem for dVerse Poetics

“Portrait of Halvor John Schou” painted in 1911 by the artist Thorvald Hellesen (1888 – 1937)
   I Was Tired

I was tired and weary
Painting day and night
Pictures of people
Animals Vegetables
Fruit and Trees
And more

Never could get to my
Hearts desire
Painted bolts of  cloth
Sides of cars
Lunch  boxes
And sacks

Finally got so bad
Was painting
Walls of the . . .

Of the house
Upstairs
And
Down

My misses said
"You painted your
Last straw
Now that you've
Painted your
Selfie

Three D
On the wall"

I used to enjoy

A Poem for Sunday Writers

Him

He's shaved she squealed
Him I like that way
He showered and shaved

How could you tell that
His beard's always messed
He smells like a ...(duck)

Have his mess to clean
He smells real good though

It also works in tribute of our Houstons Kenny Rigers but the selfie is of me in the mirror dodging my beard's shavings.  His beard was much thicker than mine, darker too.

A Tuesday Poem

In the Sky

Riders of the sky have you in their sights
No, they're not shooting or going to hurt you
They're aiming their big ear, pointing your way

Big Brother up there wants to listen in
What you are saying and talking about
Who you are talking to and what about

So you ask, just what is this all about
It's all hush-hush and not for you to know
Best keep your skeletons in the closet

You have often heard it said, "Break a leg"
But Big Brother would rather break a knee

 - I've been laying low lately.  Actually, pretty low feeling.  Literally low also, I HAVE BROKEN MY LEFT KNEECAP.  Doctor's orders, "Immobilize it for six weeks to see if it will grow back together."  My other knee cap never did grow back, it only calcified.  I go back to my orthopedic doctor next Wednesday.  BTW, it wasn't Big Brother, just my brittle bones gave loose.
