The Hurting Painter 

There you lay amongst a sea of fallen leaves 

Hurt, emerging from tap root of aging elm 

Bringing with you tender green--new hope conceived 

The dirt the old crumbling leaves be overwhelmed 

Get up arise cut your cord and paint anew

 - Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter, the first woman from her country to be famous for her art.  From childhood, without formal education, painted profusely.   Although at age eighteen she was badly hurt and was left handicapped for the rest of her life she still painted and gained national and world recognition.  

 - The "self portrait" above fairly recently sold for five million dollars plus.  Read more here and about this picture at this link.

a somewhat silly ditty ~~ "Small giants and large dwarfs"



Namba Parks in Osaka
Bored Panda 

 

Small giants and large

dwarfs share the landscape

 

Architects delight,

weaving climbers and

tiny windows share

the scene fighting for

 

the top, upside down,

downside up, silly

twins bewilder you

and me, cousins sad

 

to think of what may

become way of life

for normal people

too, way too sick to

 

argue, quarrel. 

Doesn't matter

Kerry, at the Imaginary Garden with Real Toads (at http://withrealtoads.blogspot.com/2016/10/flash-55-plus.html ) introduced us to the Bored Panda website.  There she "came across the post, 15+ of the most Amazing Examples of Japanese Architecture. ... (she) was transfixed by the ergonomic and/or economic use of space" (just right for my giants and large dwarfs).

Oh yes, exactly 55 words, per Kerry's request. 
Note:  I may not be politically correct.  But then, ... (Doesn't matter -- I liked the picture)

In the Shed

It's in the shed, she said

You go look for yourself

.

Memories were coming

Coming back, haunting me

Nothing good ever came

Never from in the shed

.

My cat died in the shed

Father's strap, spanking there

Once smoked terrible stuff,

in that shed, oh so sick,

Stirring there, I don't go
.
