An Art Inspired Poem

An Apple Fell

An apple fell last night
A big round juicey one
It rolled beyond the light
Where it could not be found
Rolled and rolled out of sight

Still in her robe early
Before the gardner came
Tip-toed past distant tree
Two feet more there it lie
Snatched that imp up to see

Not one bite she did take
Back in her shirt to stay *

I imagined the character in your poem with rosy cheeks, Jim, like the apple.

Well, that's no fun, no Eve she. And I want to know more about that gardener.

Hmmm...did she dream of the apples falling or did it tell her come choose me? Love it!

Your poem is as voluptuous as the paintings.

Has a Garden of Eden feel to me. She snatches up that apple but has yet to take a bite, innocence maintained...for now.
