NaPoWriMo 2018-16 -- Day 16, a Poem, the Board Game
Board Games for Us
Child is ill today
Mimi and Papa came
Let's play some table games today
That's what she wanted to do
Trudge upstairs game closet
It's Chutes and Ladders or
Sorry games choice
Down we come with both
Back to bed Sorry first
Pick the pieces get the dice
Open the board place the cards
Cards slide off back on they go
Roll the dice falls to floor
Play another day
Won't play in bed
Had we played it would have been
by the rules the box or hers
She's oh so competitive
For her it's win or bad game
It runs in the family
Winning

You have to pick your board game spots carefully, otherwise you loose too many pieces and can't play them again.
Yes, hard to play board games in bed. Smiles.
Lovely poem thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere
Nice one!!! Jim
much love...
Sick days are fun because of games in bed and eating in bed (you need a tray that is made for the bed with legs :)
So cute - boards don't work so well on beds. /fun one, Jim :-)
Fun take on the prompt. I always spent my sick days reading in bed!
Sometimes you do long for those rainy days because of the board games.
A lovely family vignette, regardless of whether the games were played or who might have won.
