Somber Peace

her window's ajar
pitty pat escape in sleep
night rain's peace will reign
sadness comes stillborn and death
A Farewell to Arms recalled

drops on window run
pitty pat escape in sleep
night rain's peace will reign
bright morning seems different
new day starts bringing fresh hope
