Pathetic fallacy

Runaway

Crouching below the window,
she cowered in reeking horror
The wind was voracious,
the skies were screeching lightening bugs,
Giants' tools,  searchlight effect.

"Oh pray that none ever finds me"
Was her sobbing cry.
Between crashing thunder claps our girl vowed
She vowed to leave this place,
Mother Nature prevailed, she'd go home

Today I'm linked to the Real Toads, Kerry Says (link)

Kerry tells that 'pathetic fallacy' is a literary term for the attributing of human emotion and conduct to all aspects within nature.  I.e. leaves dance, dogs laugh, or when rocks seem indifferent. We should try this, I did a little here.

You have painted a vivid scene, the storm, the wind, the thunder, her fear. Well done.

I can feel the horror of the "voracious wind" and the fear of this poor girl. Nicely done!

The voracious winds and screeching skies certainly add to the mood of fear and confusion. Thanks for participating in the Wednesday Challenge, Jim.

You've definitely created a sense of mood in this piece. Very fearful.

There is something both scary and oddly comforting about this write. But most of all I think it's beautiful!

"skies were screeching lightening bugs," … as a young girl I was terrified of lightening bugs… this line reminded me of that.

"Her sobbing cry" in the midst of the very bad weather... She needs urgent help very quickly, Dr Jim.

Very well written, Dr Jim :)
