Good Prevails? - a Write for Poetics dVerse
Night Beneath Streetlight by Jimmiehov
Day and night
Day and night,
In the light and in the dark
Does day and light prevail
Night and in the dark may spell trouble
Crimes at night when the bad prowl
and the upright are laying in sleep
Technology brings light to the night
Yet the bad find dark corners
and snuff the lights
Good and bad extend their window
Artificial and flame bring light
Then it's night with light
Averages and trends
smooth these things out
The most important I know
is right from wrong
I, as all should, try
to always do right

I love Agatha's Hercule Poirot movies and books. It's important to know that and always try to do right.
We seem to expect things to happen undercover of the night, but I often read about awful things that happen in the daytime, Jim. Evil doesn’t worry about light and dark. But we are drawn to it, whether it’s reading a good crime thriller or watching nasty crimes on television or film.
Saw that movie a long long time back and enjoyed it then.
Nice response to the prompt.
Much💛love
I wonder which version you were watching. I love both! :)
Nicely done, Jim. :-)
Jim, have you ever heard the expression, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." ? I agree that we must always try to do our best, but...
Maybe it's the darkness inside that works. Love the last lines...
I think often the light attracts the bad... maybe it is better to keep it dark since to keep the bad away
