Change of Plans -- Day 2 of NaPoWriMo 2020
Hemmed In
I am hemmed in here
while my Mustang Ford
is ready to whine
Lovely top-down days
are going to waste
Texas Bluebonnets
drool for company
That's because some dirt
farmer west of town
we're saving him from
dread COVID 19
Him we don't know and
for sure haven't seen
So gladly I stay
Here on my own street
But that's not all bad
My granddaughter came
with sidewalk chalk to
decorate my drive

Nice and that is so gorgeous the chalk drawing of your grand daughter.
It is good to think of others at a time like this when we are so focused on ourselves.
We were on a similar wavelength for Day 2, Jim, with a piece of chalk to break that hemmed-In feeling. My little blue Beetle is sitting out front, waiting for a drive too. I’m glad you got to see your granddaughter and her chalk drawings.
That's nice, that your grand-daughter came and drew for you.
Those little things that keep us going
A heartening gesture no doubt!!💘
We find our pleasures close to home these days, Jim. Lovely that your granddaughter perked you up. I can feel the lure of the open road and the bluebonnets though.
Love your granddaughter came by to brighten your day...We stay in for those we know and the stranger we'll never meet.
