One Single Impression: Blue
mama said dress nice
mother knows best I am sure
don't match blue and green
mama said no red
yes blue remember the bull
wearing red excites

mama said keep friends
be faithful and true to them
you'll have true blue friends

mama said don't bore
blue is stuffy and stodgy
don't go on and on

Jim I remember all of these ... blue suit and red tie --- but never blue suit and red shoes or red lipstick!
Ahhh you took me back down memory lane, except mama didn't say this to me, my counselor did, as she prepared us job interviews.
You ended these jewels with a wonderful balance.
So many rules!
some different blue hues of life there! :D mama says so many rules right?! :)
Mama knows best, Jim!
:D
weeks trample on each other like magazines
Mama says I listen
Great nostalgic thoughts. Enjoyed these. Took me back.
These subtle forms of communication our mothers knew....Tbough my mother's high school colors in Darien, Connecticut, were blue and green! Always, there is an exception.
Well said, Jim.
A sweet poem...I really enjoyed this. Although I think I'm in trouble. Blue and green are my two favorite colors, and I wear some combination of them on a regular basis! lol :~)
Okay I saw your graphic and thought...I'll bet those torn up jeans cost a small fortune. Well they do in California.
Loved the poem.
Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)
Jim,
Mama`s are a world of teaching to children by voice or/and actions.
Turn your head so you do not see that I have a blue t-shirt over green shorts as I type this.
ps: I am even known to wear red and purple. :)
While I love colors...at this stage of my life...comfort is more important...you truly made me smile with this poem.
as always wisdom with a little spice of humor. To this day I feel weird about putting blue and green together -- that was one of my mama's rules too.
Hola Jim...your poetry is so happy...I enjoy reading
Ah yes.. you hit a nostalgic spot there.. this so endearing.. A message well sent, in the garb of childhood innocence!
Lovely way to highlight the many ways of interpretting the value of blue!
Did Mama really say all that? Hmmmm...I better pay attention! Thanks for participating in MWB's while I was away. Mr. Linky didn't show up last week as I had my post set for auto post while I was away. I guess he thought he could cut class....
Love the photo of the jeans.
Ah yez ... I heard the same rulez and smiled with recognition as I viewed your post. I know it's been a long time since I've participated in OSI, but this week's prompt provided a bit of confluence with my life with Molly and perhaps will get me started again.
Hugs and blessings,
This is a lot of blue information. I suppose each color, each word has endless meaning to different folks. Mama sure knew. Fun piece.
Ah, how well I know these! Nice reminders!
I remember these also, kind of like "whaa, whaa, wha wha, whaaaa" coming from my mother. Very nice.
Also reminds me of a really good Lenny Kravitz song I used to listen to.
Mama was usually right, wasn't she? Nicely put...all the rules- which can totally make US blue! Thanks for the info on your career- you really did a lot- impressive!!! I am sure you are enjoying your retirement~
aww..its sweet..
mama made rules out of love..
shraddha
