Work for the ...
My work? I was on my way to Willis (Texas) to run some needed errands. I had to mail some letters, get a couple of things at the grocery store, and pick up some books from the library--ones I had ordered to come to this library from Conroe and Tomball.
It rained at Willis, while I was shopping in the grocery store. Willis is a fifteen (15) minute drive from our house.
It had not rained yet at home. But give it about 20 minutes after I got back and we had this (rain). It amounted to just under an inch in those few minutes, Houston had a lot more, those people had some street flooding.
That was enough to make standing water on the golf course back there. It was wet enough already from the day before's rain to cause this earlier in the morning:
Surely this isn't global warming? Already?
We've had a really wet summer as have other parts of the world, while some places had record breaking heat.

The Adi by the Bag Drop picture was takeen at our subdivision, while Adi and were walking. It is the place to drop off your golf clubs if you want to rent a cart from the pro-shop.
You are welcome, everyone who left comments! Those who complimented, those who asked, those who chatted, and those who thanked. You know who you are.

Wish we had some of your rain. We've had a fairly dry summer and the fire danger is quite high. I do recall a few extreme down pours while visiting Texas ...
Texas gets more rain than any other state. We could use some of that here in Hickville, but I don't want to deal with flooding.
I suppose that golfing on a soggy course wouldn't be much fun.
The foot photo is hitonious!!
Please refrain from sending such hitonious links, or at least warn me not to eat while viewing them.
(Just kidding, of course.)
hey there jim ...
i did read your note (i get them e-mailed) ... and i can see the growth in myself over the time i started blogging - it's definitely been a blessing ...
and all the different folks i get to interact with has been so sweet!
we've had a warm summer! and it seems it might be an early fall ...
blessings on you!
Wish we had gotten some rain. It thundered and carried on something awful but it only teased us. Other parts of the county got over 2 inches and wind damage though. Less than 4 miles from here they got an inch. We only got a few pitiful sprinkles. Sigh.
BTW, I guess I made mention of your feet to Jamie Dawn!! See! She agrees that they are not pretty!! :)
Yeah we have had no rain and the heat has just been unbearable. I wish it would go away now.
I love when those dark clouds roll in.
My battery is fine now. Thanks for asking.
I am going to make pancakes now for 4 boys.
Take care xx
I don't mind the rain everyday as long as it doesn't bring a hurricane with it.... We live on the North side of town ( 1960 / I-45) area. Nice to see a fellow blogger in the general area.
Does your wife know you go around taking pictures of women in shorts walking in the rain?
Global Warming?? No, it's been like this my whole life. "For a few shall be chosen to roast without rainfall, a few to get just the right amount of rain and the others I will try to drowned." (that was a paraphrase of course)
And below, Missed the boat eh Jim.
Hi Jim, Rain Rain we need Rain...
I'm on the SE side of Houston - I've had about enough of the rain!! Looks like we've got it for the rest of the week, tho...
