My Friend

.

My Friend

I have a friend, his name is Jim
We have been friends since man knew time
My friend lives in a fine small house
He has a wife--lives there with him

He is retired and does not work
All work no play is not for him
No dull boy is he. He's at peace
with himself, church he will not shirk.

Ne'er a cross word between us two
Drive each other to the doctor
And we play some golf when we can
It's because we are friends, thank you

You paint a picture of friendship and interconnectedness that so pleases the reader. We should all be blessed with such a relationship.

Friends make life very special Not everyone has them. I'd rather have friends than be $ rich any day.

These are the kind of friendships that make life so very good Jim! I love that you have a friend who is also named Jim. My husband John has a friend named John, and they go fishing together. It makes me smile. This was a lovely tribute to someone special in your life, and I definitely approve of his philosophy, sounds like he's done his life work and has earned his turn at play! :-)

Jim, at first I thought you were talking to yourself, describing your own life! Never, ever met a Jim I didn't like. Funny how some names seem immune to meanness...

As for YOU, great take on a fun prompt! Amy
