Sunday Muse - Jack and Jill
THE HEAVY:
The Deed
What
What have we done
A moment, an hour
A time we will always remember
Tender memories not to be forgotten
Even if the shame must remain
All is stored in our hearts
Stored for savoring
and
THE LIGHT:
The Pills
Jack and Jill sat on a wall
Jill fell off and broke her toe
Along came Mr. Devil
Here to rescue, Doctor Doe
Doctor doctor help me please
Glued the toe gave her some pills
Don't eat these, make you a tease
She slipped Jack one, ease your ills
Jack jumped down came on strong
Jill tease to be was surprised
Oh Jack I've waited so long
Now I've found the best of guys
Came Mr. Devil again
Pay up, Doc Doe's pill bargain

A lovely read, Jim. The three characters are interesting.
Interesting play set-up.
Methinks Jack and Jill need a de-pill-atory!
I love the dark twist to a child-like tale!
Now, I have this song lyric looping in my head. Interesting take on the prompt.
"no pills gonna cure my ill"
Tender memories + shame ... now that would be a shame. Cherish is a lovely word.
The first poem was sweet and the second one added a twist to the whole story :)
Such lyrical darkness Jim — excellent take on the prompt.
a twisted fairytale for sure jim. there is a pill for everything isn't there? a very interesting commentary, enjoyed this very much
These contrasting yet complementary pieces made an interesting read. I particularly liked the twist-in-the-tail in each version.
That last bit with the Doc and the pills and Jill and Jack out and the Devil's in. Do they all come tumbling down in the end?
Oh you took Jack and Jill down a dark spill. Love it!
Love these characters, Jim!
I wonder what Mother Goose would have to say about this version? 😄 Very entertaining.
