Top of the Hill;
hill literally or
stack of poetry books

When I reach the top of his hill
There I'll indulge in memories
Of one who reached the pinnacle
Home he's built, a writer renown

Writers write for purpose, readers
Those inspired by his ideas
Entertained and educated
Readers he must have, why he writes

To be remembered when he's done
By the home built or stack he's piled
On the hilltop where he retired
Folk will climb up there honor him

Mere wall of windows face the sea
Poet's inspiration portal

 - We visited Valparaiso, Chile, on December 21 of 2016. Mrs. Jim and I hired a taxi to tour the town for the entire afternoon.  Towards the end of the day we drove up the little mountain and visited the home of Pablo Neruda.  Read more of that visit here, and scroll down to (4).of that post.

I'd love to visit there too someday. Perhaps if I ever make it back to Peru I'll take an extra day for Chile.
